    Happy RVing My Friends

Well my friends, our 2 year, 4 month stint with our Heartland RV has come to an end. This morning, a very happy gentleman drove away with both my F450 and my Cyclone while I had his check in hand. As many of you know, my relationship with Heartland has been somewhat rocky, to say the least...

Took delivery of our 300C finally!

If Disney and amusement parks are your thing, Fort Wilderness is tough to beat. Its typically always a five star deal with the ratings. But its just over 600 miles for us. Probably over 3000 for you.

Took delivery of our 300C finally!

This is true. Plus we've had to replace so much stuff, its almost brand new. :D Actually we're in that "middle of the road" situation. If we sell it, great. If not, great. The youngest son has switched to Tae Kwon Do from the quad racing. So we don't have to be at the tracks until 2:00 instead...

Dude. You are the man. You've been changing that camper since day one. Why don't you just buy mine. I'll meet you in Oklahoma. ;)

    Heartland Customer Service?????

To the OP. I feel your pain and frustration. Our story is well know here. Heartland started giving us the "brush-off" after only 2 months of ownership! Our camper wouldn't stop at all and nobody could figure out the problem. Heartland wanted nothing to do with us except they were kind enough to...

SOLVED: Power Loss with Generator On

Re: Help please! Power inverter location? I'm going to guess. Mine went out on my Cyclone after about 15 months but our floorplans are different. In the pass-through compartment underneath, remove the back wall panel. The wall on mine is held in by four screws. Behind that wall panel was my...

AJ!!! Fat Guy and the Roof????

200 lbs. here. I go up and down the ladder whenever I need to. If it starts to break, I'll jump. Y'all just make sure you take your high heels off and pull up your skirts before you start your climb.

    Solved! Trailer brakes-not working

Re: Trailer brakes-not working How funny. Ours had to be taken in three times as well for horrible brakes during the first four months of ownership. But we eventually had to have them replaced with the 7K braking system from Dexter. The 6K system just wasn't cutting it. Dexter was great to...

    Think twice!!

I feel your pain. I also understand your frustration. Since misery loves company, I'll share. We've taken our Cyclone back to the dealership five times for repairs (three times for the same thing!). Its exactly 100 miles to my dealership. That's 200 miles round trip to drop it off. 200 miles...

Initial Walk Through Before Taking Delivery

Hook up to the city water. Then hook into the black tank flush. When we first used our black tank flush, it flooded the entire storage compartment. Also make sure the winterization hose works.

    Need advice on Toy Haulers

What about the Voltage 3818? 6" longer garage than the Cyclone 4018. Plus it lists a total cargo carrying capacity as 5344 lbs. http://voltagehaulers.com/floorplan/3818

I'm out of here, enjoy your Heartland RVs....

Best of luck with your new camper. Before too long, we'll be financially able to do the same. :)

    I'm happy how about you?

Since you asked. Yes, Life is good. But when it comes to our Cyclone, it takes away some of the joy. As I've said before, its the first time since 2004 (our first RV) that we don't enjoy camping that much. But one day when we get the loan paid down enough, that will change. :)

    Cyclone 300c walkthrough

To the OP. Ironic you post this in the "Waste Water Systems" forum. I have a 370C which is similar to your 300. Here's my .02 The first time we used our black tank flush, the entire storage compartment flooded. The first time we tried to winterize our Cyclone, the antifreeze suction hose would...

    Heartland vs Keystone

I agree most here are happy with their Heartland RVs. But I am well known here as a dissenter. Whenever we sell our Cyclone, no more Heartland products for us ever. Our toy hauler has performed poorly and customer service from Heartland made it even worse. Not trying to bash at all here. But...

    Progressive Renewal Skyrockets

Exactly. If the OP hasn't tried Gilbert RV Insurance, I'd sure call them. Not sure about the full-timers coverage but their rates and customer service have been tops with us.

    Undercarriage Hardware

Was attempting to remove some of that fake cardboard stuff they use to protect the undercarriage from the elements. Only problems is, Heartland skimped on the bolts. Now my two year old camper has bolts so rusted, most are breaking the heads off without coming out of the frame. I already have...

    Powermax TowMax tires

That's too funny. When I called Heartland after my blowout and subsequent damage, the Heartland tech told me the exact same thing.

Upgrade to 7000lb Axles on 4000 Elite

I would recommend the upgrade. Our 370C had virtually no brakes whatsoever after only two months old. Our dealer tried several different things, I tried a couple of ideas, and Heartland wanted nothing to do with us. We were at wit's end. Finally after our third trip to the dealership, some...

Problems with my new CY 300C

Re: 300C problems I have two jobs. I'm a full-time firefighter and I own my own lawn maintenance/landscaping business. I've been doing this for over ten years and have built the lawn care business up with my own two hands to a very strong, profitable business. Even in this economy, we continue...

Problems with my new CY 300C

Re: 300C problems I am still surprised at how many people try to come to the rescue of a poorly constructed $50,000 BRAND NEW camper. If this was your new home or a new truck, would you honestly tell yourself not to start off with a bad attitude or say its not unusual to have "shakedown...

    Traded up

Getting a new camper is always exciting. But lets look at safety for a minute. Although I can't find the specs on the Heartland site, my suspicion is you are now way overweight on that F250. Please look into that overall GVW and your pin weight. I suspect that pin weight is probably more...

    Outside Ladder.

Also, keep a sharp eye on the screws holding the plastic fender skirts on. They'll start randomly missing very soon. Go ahead and get nuts and bolts with cushioned washers and just keep them with you. You can replace them at various campgrounds until they're all replaced.

Storage wars!! Where has all the storage gone?

"The new Cyclones look like cheap Forrest River appointed toy haulers now, sad because Cyclones are still the #1 toyhauler in my opinion for quality." Everyone's got their own opinion. I'd ten times rather have an XLR over my Cyclone. I do agree with you on one point. My Puma travel trailer...

    Ford 6.7 Proper Oil

    2012 3/4 & 1Ton Pickup Sales

I would tend to agree. They're cheaper and the Cummins is probably the most dependable overall. That being said, I've noticed that most of the RV'ers drive Fords.

    2012 3/4 & 1Ton Pickup Sales

What about the F450? Does that cut away from Ford's numbers in the OPs post? If Ford sells a 450, does it not count in those numbers? I've even noticed in Diesel Power and others how they fail to mention it when comparing trucks (example: the new Ram). When we bought our truck, a huge reason...

    Diesel auxiliary tank 2012 F350

Here's what I have. Great price, great tool storage, separate area for fuel filler, locks at the lid and the cap, and still leaves plenty of room for my Reese/Ford hitch. My Ford dealer actually bought it at my request and then installed it for me with a gravity flow. Make sure you put a ball...

    Cyclone underbelly ?

Our Cyclone does very poor in very cold climates. We have to keep the heat running with usually two space heaters to supplement. It heats very unevenly and the walls and windows are so frigid, you can feel the cold coming down by your feet. Can't comment on the rep's points. But it does appear...
