Question for all you Dometic 320 Users

I was peering into the hole of a new Dometic 320 toilet with the flapper open (at an RV show), when I noticed the fulcrum of the foot pedal mounting mechanism is visible on the inside of the toilet, on both sides. It looks to me like this area would be a problem for toilet paper, or other...

SOLVED: Automatic Transfer Switch intermittent chatter (it was the converter fan)

Re: Automatic Transfer Switch intermittent chatter Problem fixed! As I was checking connections in the ATS, I determined the clicking was not coming from the transfer switch at all. It was coming from the power converter near by. When they put the converter in, the battery leads to the...

SOLVED: Automatic Transfer Switch intermittent chatter (it was the converter fan)

We have a Progressive Dynamics Model PD52DCS ATS in our 2012 Cyclone 3612. It has begun to chatter intermittently while on shore power. At the moment it is not making a sound, but will probably begin to chatter later. Is it going bad? It is only two years old.

Running Cyclone Air Conditions Inside an Enclosed Garage

Thanks for the input. Were you running 2 AC's to cool the garage, or 2 RV AC's to cool the RV. My wife is having a big party, and we want to put up a few people in our Fifth Wheel so we want to run the RV AC's inside our storage building.

Running Cyclone Air Conditions Inside an Enclosed Garage

Is it OK to run air conditioners inside an enclosed garage? Garage is well ventilated, windows on both sides. Or is there some sort of safety risk here. Thanks, Buzz

Air Springs for your tow vehicle

Does anyone hauling a heavy fifth wheel use adjustable air springs on their truck? Do you like them? Do they improve ride, handling, tire wear, etc.

Outside & garage speaker switche doesn'tt work Cyclone 3612

Thanks for the input. I have jiggled the slip on connectors, and still no audio to outside or garage speakers. All slip-on connectors appear to be connected properly. I think I will contact the factory to get replacement switches. I had a momentary switch for the front landing gear go bad...

Outside & garage speaker switche doesn'tt work Cyclone 3612

We have two switches for our audio system, one turns inside speakers on or off, the other switches to outside speakers or garage speakers, or nether. They have both worked for the past 3 years, but now the switch for garage or outside has stopped working. The connection to the switches appear...

    Power Converter Humming Cyclone 3612

We recently replaced our power converter after a mishap (catastrophe may be more appropriate description) where we plugged into an incorrectly wired campground pedestal. The new converter make a noticeable humming noise. Is this normal? Or is this an indication of a problem. At first we...

Auto Transfer Swtch on Cyclone 3612

We have a 50 amp Surge Guard, but obviously not using it because the pedestal was only 30 amps. This was the first time in four years we have not had 50 amp service. My wife was right - the campground, and I use the term lightly, was a ****-hole.

Auto Transfer Swtch on Cyclone 3612

Thanks to all for good advice. We opened up the basement ear wall and found the ATS. All wires are tight and there is no evidence of arcing. No clunk when shore power connected, but a very noticeable clunk when gen started. Also a little green led light goes on when generator operating. I...

Auto Transfer Swtch on Cyclone 3612

Thanks, Danemayer. The pedestal was suspect at campground where we were last night, so we left and came home. We are now plugged into 50 amp circuit in our own RV garage, so we have clean 50 amps. We have checked the connection between the power cord and the RV and it seems tight and right...

Auto Transfer Swtch on Cyclone 3612

We have lost power to RV from shore line, however, can run generator which powers the RV. Spoke with a service technician who said that the transfer switch may be bad or it may need to be reset. He said to look for a reset button near the generator. Question 1, anybody know of the whereabouts...

    TowMax Trailer Damage Claims

We are new to fifth wheeling, and was unaware of TowMax issues. I generally go to the forums AFTER I have experienced a problem instead of researching every possible issue that I might run into. Thanks to all who have provided advice. Will research 17.5 wheels and G614's further. TowMax will...

    TowMax Trailer Damage Claims

Had three blow-outs in 500 miles last week on trip from Arkansas to Colorado. When I initiated claim with Tow Max was told they needed the actual blown tires to process claim. Of course, I had replaced tires on the road, one in Tulsa, one in Wichita and one in McPherson, KS, and did not take...

    Leaking shower Cyclone 3612

Water forming on the outside of the shower enclosure, where the metal is screwed down to the shower base. Removed old silicone and replaced all along the inside edge. Still leaked. Thought water was travelling down the door hinge, and out the bottom of the metal frame, so I hung a small piece...

Fresh water tank shows 1/3 full after using city water

We have been out for three days, using city water. I noticed this morning that the fresh water tank fill indicater light shows the fresh water tank to be 1/3 full. Why is that happening. I thought if you had the lever on city water, you by-passed the tank altogether.

    Campsite Security

Thanks to all who replied. We are on our way to California for Christmas and will leave our fifth wheel unattended for a couple days at a campsite. I will feel more comfortable if it is locked up with a pin lock. Thanks again, Buzz.

    Campsite Security

Here's a basic question regarding security at a campsite. If you unhook your tow vehicle and go to town for dinner, what is a good way to secure your fifth wheel at the campsite. I mean, how do you prevent somebody hooking up and taking the whole thing?

Maximum driveway down grade to garage

Actually, I was thinking of calculating the percent grade of a driveway, but your suggested calculation should give me the up-grade tolerance of my fifth wheel. I'll do some measurements tomorrow. Thanks for the info. You turned the light on for me to calculate the grade of my fifth wheel.

Maximum driveway down grade to garage

We are planning to build a garage for our Cyclone 3612 fifth wheel. The lot we want to put it on next to our house has a down grade from the street toward the back of the lot. I have asked the factory, but they were unable to answer the question. Question is - what is the maximum down grade...

    Turning distance for Cyclone CY3612

Thanks to all who posted responses. I have come to the conslusion that we do not have enough width across the lot next door to put a garage parallel to the street and allow for driving through. We plan to build the garage at an angle to our current driveway, probably something like 120-130...

    Turning distance for Cyclone CY3612

Thanks, Harley-Rider and Old Crank. If you had a 14' wide door on your garage, would that cut down the 60' distance to perhaps 50" or less because of the quicker exit turn?

    Turning distance for Cyclone CY3612

TrukNutt, your photo looks like you have an RV garage that you back into with what looks like a 12' door. Is this correct? If so, how much learning curve is required to learn how to back a big fifth wheel into a garage? If I could learn how do do that, the who question of turning distance on...

    Turning distance for Cyclone CY3612

Thanks for the info. We do plan to have a 14' wide door so I can began the turn earlier. The garage will be parallel with the street, so we are limited by the width of the lot we are building on. The shorter the turning distance, the bigger we can make the garage. I presume your garage is...

    Turning distance for Cyclone CY3612

Thanks, D-max. We have not yet have not yet purchased the fifth wheel, building the garage first. So we cannot do a traffic cone test. Was hoping someone with a similar RV and truck would have some specific experience with this.

    Turning distance for Cyclone CY3612

We are building a drive-thru RV garage for a Cyclone CY3612 (not yet purchased). Before we proceed with construction, need to know how much turning room is needed after you pull thru the garage and exit thru a 12' garage door to make a 90 degree left turn to the street. Will be pulling with a...
