    Dually Daily Driver??

I test drove an F350 the other day to get a sense of how it felt. Loved it. Not much different than the srw and when I went to park it in the stall, it whipped right in there with ease. I was very impressed with the turning on this drw.

    Dually Daily Driver??

We've had up to 4 cars and it's a ridiculous waste of money and insurance. We are down to three and it will stay that way. However, my wife's car is a '98 Z28 which she won't part with. Her DD is a Toyota Yaris. I've offered to buy her a new Camaro and trade in the two, but she won't budge and...

    Dually Daily Driver??

Exactly where I'm coming from as the OP. I have owned multiple vehicles and the double "everything" is a pain. One vehicle for multiple tasks is the way to go. And a dually will give me more choices in 5vers.

    2012 Ford Super Duty F-350

I'm totally aware that both vehicles are different animals, my point is safety which is a universal concept.

    2012 Ford Super Duty F-350

Thank you VERY much truknutt. I did some calculations with the calculators (BYB RV and an Excel template I pulled from another forum) and I would not tow a 16,250 pound (GVWR) Landmark with a short bed F 350 SRW truck. It's a shame that the term "weight police" is used when it comes to these...

I'm talking about the payload, NOT the pulling capacity. There are two sides to this equation. I ask because I am considering this type of truck.

    2012 Ford Super Duty F-350

    1. Welp I guess I won't get a straight answer regarding the type of truck (F 350 SB SRW) that I am considering to buy and to learn from the owner it's towing characteristics and the effect the pin weight in the rear axle and payload! 2. Welp I'm not the weight police! 3. Welp I come to these...

    Dually Daily Driver??

Thanks for the candid replies folks! I've always liked duallys, especially the ones that are "slammed" (lowered) although impractical if towing a 5ver. I like the Fords the best because of their solid wide stance, and no rakes; horizontal all around unlike the other two ( not knocking them just...

    Dually Daily Driver??

The one saving grace about buying a dually is that it would be considered "too small" as far as the wife is concerned since she (5'2" tall) was an over the road trucker for 25 years. :)

    Dually Daily Driver??

I heard that. I don't want to have an additional vehicle. My wife has her custom Camaro (which she FORBIDS me to drive) and her Toyota Yaris, which is her daily driver. I have an HHR that I plan to trade up for the truck. Thing is it would be nice to have a dually as one is not limited too much...

I find it interesting to note that your truck is not overloaded considering the weight of the landmark.

    Dually Daily Driver??

I think one of the biggest issues why some won’t opt for a dually is that it is not considered a good daily driver. I want to know if this is true or not. Not to be sexist, but I see a lot of duallys being driven by women around my city, (which is in the San Bernardino area) like it’s no big...

TV for Newly Ordered Cyclone 3110

Agreed. Time will tell. I think with today's technology redemption in a new drivetrain is possible. I have yet to see how it will stand the test of time. The big three will always battle for one's business. I've had 7 Ford vehicles ranging from cars to vans, have had Chrysler vehicles (mainly...

TV for Newly Ordered Cyclone 3110

I test drove all three trucks. I didn't like the Dodge as it seemed to hesitate on acceleration from stop. The GM and the Ford both had seamless acceleration. My best however was the Ford because sitting in the seat I felt "planted" whereas the GM I did not. This would make a difference on long...

Turning radius with a shortbed truck.

Thank you for the info, I've spent about 6 months myself doing research so I pretty much have an idea about weights. That's why when I look at a truck and the trailer behind it I pull out my calculator and start doing the numbers. By the looks of the combination of dave1a's setup, it seemed to...

Turning radius with a shortbed truck.

Hey dave10a, is your truck suited to tow that big Landmark? By the looks of your avatar and the research I did on weights, it would seem that your SRW truck would be overloaded. Reason I ask is that I am going for the same truck as you: F350 SRW short bed and I want to gauge what I can tow...
