I run one of these, Sportsman GEN4000LP 4,000 Watt 6.5 HP OVH Propane Powered Portable Generator, I don't have to worry about Ethanol gumming up carburetor & LP gas is easier to handle & store... same engine as the Champion, available at Amazon or Tractor Supply.
Re: Reviews of the North Trail 24 BHS
Ground clearance is one of the things that sold me on mine, I do mostly 2 rut road, way off the beaten track camping with mine, haven't bottomed out afaik yet...
Re: Reviews of the North Trail 24 BHS
No problems at all pulling my 22FBS, the 24 BHS looks to be a little heavier but seems to be built on the same chassis...
I'd be in for Ruidoso as it's fairly close ... Silver is on the other side of state so probably not going to happen, I work so would also have to check on days off etc...
Might grab a beer out of it when I get in from work (out of beer in house), going camping July 4th weekend so will be checking everything over good, plus checking food supplies...
Been awhile since I've attached with vb, go Advanced (beside quick reply button) then scroll down and you should see option below to manage attachments. :) Need to get my North Trail on the road soon, been awhile.
Cool idea!, depending on this forums setup you may need 5 posts before you can post attachments, you should see above the reply window an insert image option, from that you can insert pictures.
Sure has greened up down there compared to last spring... (was there last weekend for Niece graduation from Angelo State and have been watching softball for the past few months)
The weather I'm looking at shows 100% chance of rain Tuesday & Tuesday night so be careful, gas prices were the same as Carlsbad up to Roswell last Friday night...(same in Clovis area also)
Mi Casita is my favorite for Mexican food in Carlsbad, it's on main street, although China Lantern on the National Parks Highway is very good also... Snow to go has good green chile cheeseburgers, it's on South Canal also in Carlsbad.
Living south of Carlsbad, the Cattle Baron Steak House is one of our favs in Roswell, it's on main street a ways past the UFO museum... pricy, but good.
I made that trip Friday, was wet from outside of Lubbock, to between Happy & Canyon, there were some ugly looking clouds for a ways. It cleared up in Canyon in time for the softball game I was traveling for at 4pm though... I did make the 278 mile trip back home after the game to get back out of...
Good advice, since I usually dry camp after I've pulled a length away or so I re check to make sure nothing forgotten at camp, hitch good, no trash etc... and when breaking camp I check psi in all tires.
The Wide Trax does make it more stable, but you really have to watch what you are doing on 2 rut roads and remember where the trailer tires will be running with cactus, mesquite & Lechuguilla...
I have 2 F150's & pull my 22FBS fine with the 5.0, the 4.6 struggles on grades, but both are not 4x4's ... I mainly dry camp within 100 miles of home and haven't really had it out on the open road.
Mine is close to the house, I sleep in it occasionally, I get 12 channels OTA and keep a WDTV first gen box in it along with a HDD with some of my favorite movies... keep it stocked with beer and the dogs love to sleep in it.
