    Shine on camper

We drop the tailgate to the truck and back up to the nose cap to wash/wax our Bighorn. We use Liquid Glass. It is specially formulated for fiberglass. It shines very well and makes cleaning bug splashes easier than with a regular wax formulation. Warning, Liquid Glass isn't cheap. About $25...

    New 3610re ain't gonna happen

One of the things I didn't mention that was clearly due to a customer with a heavy hand during a walk through. That was an overhead cabinet hanging by one hinge which clearly was from abuse. I'll even grant that the dings/finish issues in the dining area my have been from walk throughs. But...

    New 3610re ain't gonna happen

My wife and I WERE seriously looking to swap our 2008 BH 3370RL for a 2011 BH 3610RE. It isn't gonna happen. I couldn't believe how poorly the coach we looked at was built. Granted, the features of the coach are exactly what Marcia is wishing for, but, and it is a very big but, how in the...

    Went to camping world

We went with some friends to an RV show, Camping World only inventory on display, yesterday at the Lake County, IL fairgrounds. They had a nice BH3610RE on display which was getting quite a bit of attention. The salesman was feeding everyone who would listen how Heartland was doing poorly...

    Just bought a new truck

39,600 miles on our '08 F250 6.4L. Pulls like a mule but the mileage flat out sucks. The BEST we've got was 14.0 mpg empty. And that seems to have been a one time deal. The mileage computer reads 12.4 avg mpg as I type..... That DPF and EGR really killed the mileage but oh boy does it...

    Tow-n-Stow

The Tow-n-Stow would have to have some form of braking system to be legal behind the fifth wheel rv. Behind a TV alone wouldn't be a problem in most of the country unless over 3,000 lbs. jj

    MPG Change

We have 38,000 miles, give or take a few, on our '08 6.4L and have yet to see any significant mileage gains. Since parking the BigHorn for the winter I am getting 11.6 mpg running around town and shorter trips. The best I've done without the BH in tow was just over 14 mpg on a 210 mile round...

    Sante Fe New Mexico

We stayed there June '07. It got the job done. Nothing fancy but friendly people. On a side note, try to do dinner at La Casa Sena. Fabulous food. And I could die and go to heaven just perusing the shelves of the wine shop affiliated with the restaurant!! Joe

Just slightly off-topic, but how clean is clean enough before the rubber roof treatment is applied? We cleaned ours off last weekend but ran out of cleaner with a few feet not cleaned very well. Joe

Broke Down in Tillamook, OR;Camping in Les Schwab

Have you considered a product liability lawyer? Sometimes a letter from a lawyer threatening a lawsuit or class action suit will be enough the manufacturer to cut their losses and pay the claim. Look into it, as it seems to me you have a valid issue to litigate. Joe fyi, I am not a lawyer...

Did I mess Up? (or not)

We are towing a 3370RL with an F250 with 9800 lb. gvwr. We are slightly over the gvwr, but not over on either axle weights of the truck or trailer, nor are we over on the gcwr. Talked to our dealer before either unit was purchased and he said we'd be fine. Coming up on 36,000 miles since...

    Diesel fuel availability

We recently returned from a trip to South Dakota and Nebraska. Stopped at several Cenex stations which did not have ULSD. There is a Wal-Mart station and a Speedway near home which have LSD and ULSD both. I've been told by Ford as little as one tank of the wrong fuel will hurt the emissions...

    6.4L - Sounds like a Helicopter

'08 6.4L now has 31,000 on the odometer. The fan was running fairly often going the the Black Hills and 90+ degrees a couple weeks ago. Temps were normal on the gauges. Averaging 10.0-10.5 mpg towing and ~13 mpg without the RV. The DPF is really killing the mileage.

    Mt Rushmore Need Help!

We are in Custer now and staying at the Beaver Creek CG next door to the KOA. Nice place, good people. Quiet....... Real quiet...... Last time out here we stayed in Custer State Park in the Game Lodge campground. Of the several campgrounds in the park, I think it is the nicest and close to...

    Campgounds around St. Louis..

+1 for St. Charles. Marcia and I stayed there last season and it is a very, repeat, very nice place with concrete pads. Not much in the way of landscaping though. The restaraunt is a local favorite and is very good. There is also a lot of history connected with the town and a vibrant...

    Custer South Dakota

Beaver Creek Campground in Custer, SD is a nice place. God's country. Quiet, clean, well maintained, good people running the place. They even have a water slide for the kids. About 10 minutes from Crazy Horse Monument and another 15-20 minutes to Rushmore. Just don't eat at "The Bank" Steak...

    Bathroom sheet flooring

Two trips to the dealer, the last time for 2 weeks, and the flooring problem still hasn't been fixed and the dealer says they don't know what is causing the problem or how to fix it. A water leak from the shower has been eliminated as the problem. My current thought is there is too much flex...

    Campgrounds, what's a good price..

There are differences between campgrounds, RV parks, and RV resorts. Our local campground, Illinois Beach State Park, is a really nice place to go, as long as one stays away from holiday weekends, but $22.00 per for electric only is a bit rich for me. We are currently at a KOA at $36 per with...

    Fifth wheel hitch??

We have a BH and F250 standard bed and no slider. Dealer said we didn't need it. Buddy of mine has a Sundance with a Chevy 2500 standard bed with a slider. He's had his SD a year or so longer than we have had our BH and to the best of my knowledge has never needed to use the slider on his...

mpg towing with Ford super duty

The BEST mileage I've had with my '08 F250 6.4L 3.73 gear ratio Superduty was 14 MPG on a 220 mile road trip empty. That was the one and only time I got 14 MPG. With the BH3370 in tow mileage averages between 9.5 and 11.5 MPG depending on weather/wind conditions. Poor mileage is the one and...

    Electric Fireplace problem

How did you get your fireplace out of its cabinet? To get ours out we have to remove the front glass to remove the screws securing the fireplace to the cabinet. Electric Fireplace problem

    Electric Fireplace problem

Interesting surprise yesterday when we pulled into South Haven, MI at Sunnybrook RV Resort. Bio Diesel?

We have an '08 Ford SD 6.4 diesel. In our area as well as most of our travels, the percentage of biodiesel isn't known. The pumps here state the bio content varies from 5-20%. Since we have no way to know what the bio content is, what is a poor boy to do? If it says ULSD on the pump we fuel...
