Verizon Hotspot for internet access . . .

Hi Dan, You have been very helpful in the past and I enjoyed meeting you at the National Rally in Goshen. I am wanting to install a WEBOOST cell phone amplifier and wanted to find out your suggestions on best way to install. Most blogs suggest to install the outside antenna on the ladder, but...

    Morryde vs Lippert Entry Steps

We saw at the Goshen Rally last year that they were putting the Mor-Ryde steps on the LandMarks with power assist. But Mor-Ryde did not have this option for the after market. Has anyone seen this option for the aftermarket yet? It made lifting the steps a lot easier for my DW.

Big Horn 3760 EL upgrades, modifications and repairs

I have everything wired except the Hot Water Heater and the A/C's on a separate sub-panel. I used the Blue Sea 8 circuit panel, it fits nicely on the back wall of my pantry. No issues with the Magnum, although it does use a lot of amps to run. It is the only unit that is still made in the...

Big Horn 3760 EL upgrades, modifications and repairs

Good guess. Behind the basement wall toward the back side, was the factory installed converter and transfer switch. It was a perfect place. I have AGM batteries laying on their side, so no need for ventilation. It was perfect. The batteries weigh over a hundred pounds a piece, that was 500...

I have now owned my Big Horn for 18 months and thought I would publish the upgrades that I have made. In addition, I thought it was only fair to also publish the repairs that I have had to make. All in all, I am extremely happy with my Big Horn, I searched for two years before making this...

Furrion Kitchen Appliances in 2017 models

Hi Dan, We met you at the Heartland Rally recently in Goshen. We would like to look into upgrading our appliances in our Big Horn to the Furrion. Do you know if there is any literature out on doing this? Our Atwood oven is not very usable and my wife hates it. The convection oven is not much...

ATF: Bighorn - Grey and Black water tank dimensions

ON my rig, Big Horn, I was able to lower the underbelly cover by removing the bolts. There were a lot of bolts, but otherwise doable. The present sensors are on the port side, but the most flat surface of the tanks is on the starboard side (door side). That would be the side you would want to...

ATF: Bighorn - Grey and Black water tank dimensions

Jesse, Sorry for the delay in getting back with you. I was successful in pulling the underside down and getting to the tanks. I ordered the 12" but had to cut them down to their minimum height as the flat side of the tank is only about 8 ". This is true for the Grey and Black, not sure about...

2017 Goshen Rally - Technical Presentations

Yes, That would be great. My biggest concern is what type of sub-panel should I use, where to install it? It looks like most of my A/C outlets that I use are on one side of the 50 AMP and only the front A/C is on the other side, is this correct? Just going by the amperage readings, I have not...

2017 Goshen Rally - Technical Presentations

I would like to see a comprehensive suggested way of upgrading your 5th wheel to using an inverter. Including what needs to stay, (i.e. converter, switches, etc.) and what needs to go. Best place for installation, some do's and don't's. Thank you,

ATF: Bighorn - Grey and Black water tank dimensions

Yes, I always do. the dealer tried to fix it, to no avail. I received the dimensions from the factory, so I will invest in the SEELEVEL II system. It should solve the problem once and for all. It would be impossible to dry camp without knowing for sure the levels of your tanks. Don

ATF: Bighorn - Grey and Black water tank dimensions

I am very frustrated with my black tank monitoring system. I have followed all of the forum and factory suggested procedures to clean out the black tank, but as soon as we flush only about 6 times, the monitor is reading 2/3 full. I know this can't be true, as when I do a dump, not very much...

ATF: Bighorn - Slides making dent in floor and carpets

ATF: Bighorn - Slides making dent in floor and carpets

Dan, Thank you for the speedy reply. I don't think the Lippert Solution will work for me as they seem to be for a different shaped enclosed slide. However, I may pursue the adjustment idea once I have done some more research on the ramifications. Obviously, I don't want to do anything that...

ATF: Bighorn - Slides making dent in floor and carpets

I recently had my Big Horn to the dealer in Elkhart, IN and complained about the slides making dents in the kitchen floor, the dining room carpet and the bedroom carpet. He told me to use a thin piece of plexi-glass to protect the floor. I got to thinking about this, and I paid more than $70K...

ATF: Bighorn - 8,000 lb. Axles

I do have the Goodyear G-614, so I know that the tires and the axles will handle the load, even if the sticker does not say so. As they say below, I do have the peace of mind knowing that I am the safest I can be. Of course, I will not try to exceed the rated 16,000 pounds for the RV, but I...
