My wife and used to tow our 3210 Cyclone with a 2007 Dodge 2500 SRW diesel. As time went by, my concern was stability around turns and whether the truck had the suspension and brakes to handle the Cyclone. So we sold the 2007 and bought a 2003 Dodge 3500 dually diesel. Pulling the trailer is not...

Take your truck and fifth wheeler to a certified scale and weigh your truck and trailer loaded to take on a trip. You will then have a better idea if your are overloaded. For years I towed our 3210 Cyclone with a Ram 2500 4X4 TD. I was overloaded and handling was not good. Air bags...
I am towing a 3210 Cyclone with a 2003 Dodge 3500 dually. I have no air bags or any mods to the suspension. No problems. Our 3500 tows so much better than our 2500 did.
I guess every time I went by the scales at Rainbow, I should go in with our empty dually. My experience with the CHP officers in the scales is they don't like unloaded pickups even dually pickups in the scale. I don't think they look at DMV rules that much on pickups and RVs.
My wife and I made the change from a Dodge Ram 2500 to a Dodge Ram 3500 dually. We had been using our 2500 for over eight years pulling our Cyclone 3210. After making a 3600 mile trip from California to Iowa towing our Cyclone with the 3500 , I concluded that our 3500 is safer handling, better...
Hi. My wife and I are pulling a 2008 Cyclone 3210 toy hauler with our 2003 Dodge 3500 dually with a 5.9 TD. So far I have not encountered any problems with stability when towing the Cyclone. The specs on our Cyclone are very close to the Bighorn your going to buy. Our 2003 Dodge does not have...
Back in April and May, My wife and I did a round trip from Escondido CA to Carson Iowa. Went by numerous weight stations. Never pulled into one. Unless your driving for hire, officers won't bother you.

Hi,
In April of this year I found on Autotrader a 2003 Dodge Ram 3500 5.9 TD longbed dually for 13,600 out the door. I searched this vehicle on Car Fax and turned out to be a one owner truck. This truck replaced our 2007 Dodge 2500 short bed diesel. Much better for towing our Cyclone.

I have too agree with Jan and Bill. But payloads from manufacturers are not realistic. From the posts your almost at your limit. You might want to consider a bigger truck. I learned the hard way. Braking, stability especially going down hill with a loaded trailer can have some anxious moments...
Hi gang,
Based on the last eight to ten years, most high in toy haulers especially Heartland Cyclones require a truck that has a tow rating of 18000 lbs. When we bought our 2008 Cyclone 3210 new we were told by the Heartland dealer that our 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 short bed 4X4 would be safe towing...
For me I like the stability of the DRW. For years my wife and I towed our Cyclone 3210 with out 07 Dodge 2500 4X4 with a H.O. 5.9 TD. While the truck could pull the trailer it was not always the most stable truck. We sold the 07 and bought a one owner 03 Dodge 3500 long bed dually with a 5.9 TD...
Back in April my wife and I set out on a two week vacation to Iowa from California. My wife grew up in Treyner and the family planned a get together. Our trip totaled 3600 miles.
For years our tow vehicle was a 07 Dodge 2500 Quad Cab 4X4 5.9 HO turbo diesel. I loved the mileage at 10mpg but I...
Hi everyone.
Long time Cyclone owner but just registered . Hope to share my wife and I experiences and learn from other Heartland owners. I will be taking time to read and learn all of different areas of the forum.
Thanks
