    New Furballs

Keep your head up! Mom and Dad's cat tested positive. That was 3.5 years ago. Just had a check up and is going strong. When they were trying to name him I happened to Nick name him "DC" for darn cat it stuck. He's rotten!

    locking the propane tanks?

I believe that mechanical code requires the gas shutoff valve to be accessible at all times. No locks on the doors but at the bands on the tanks.

Air Conditioner blowing funny smell out of the vents

Agree with Carl. Replace both your last picture kinda looks like the device was hot also. Once an electrical device is to hot it will never preform up to spec or it will failure early. Most hard start capacitors are $25-$50. Don't let them charge you $300.00 like I saw on the news!

    What truck to buy?

I'm in the 250/2500 crowd. Always had gas until 5 years ago. Switched to Diesel and could not be happier with the towing. Never knew what I was missing. Ultimately it will depend on how much you are going to tow. If you are going to stay home FL most of the time the gasser is a less expensive...

    Mohican State Park (Ohio)

Here is a link to Amish Country Holmes County. http://www.visitamishcountry.com/ We live about 50 miles SE of Mohican. Amish Country is about 15-20 miles east. One option. Mid Ohio Sports Car Course http://www.midohio.com/. That is west about 20 miles. Gotta love Ohio one of the few places you...

    Brake controller settings

I have been running my 2016 3500 CC 4x4 DRW at 8-9. Seems to do ok around that point. No gravel roads in my area to try that out on at least none we would survive. There is a lag in applying the brake and then the trailer brakes picking up. The 8-9 setting lets me feel the trailer brakes are...

    New Reason for Auto/Truck Burglaries?

I know I'm suppose to carry them with me however never have. Just didn't feel safe doing so. Do have copies in Dropbox easily accessed. Never been cited for not having them not ever pulled over much either.

    Pulling mountains

I have always heard that you should let the truck idle for a time to cool off the turbo after a pull. Generally do that with no ill effects. Most of the diesel forums say this.

    Mini-Split A/C?

That's true. But the fridge is usually in the middle of the rig. Talk to some who have the rear washer and dryer and those with bike racks. Seen a few going down the road. I think I'll let someone else's $1500 experiment with longevity for now. Do agree that they will be much more efficient and...

    Mini-Split A/C?

My only concern would be how long the unit on the back of the rig would last. They are not intended to go bouncing down the road. Not to imply it will not work but they are usually attached to a immovable structure.

    Relief vent on roof...

Not trying to stir up anything. Usually an attic vent doesn't go into a HVAC supply or return plenum. If you run the AC and cold air is blowing out that hole I would think there is a problem.

    Kentucky Bourbon Trail

We have family in Frankfort. Buffalo Trace is there. When we are in town we stop and get supplies. Been on the tour several times. Nothing like bourbon and bourbon ball candy! Woodford Reserve is off Rt 60 heading toward Lexington. They have a great tour also. We have been to several others but...

Disk Brakes - Oil Bath Bearings

I was told by my repair facility (independent general trailer type non RV) that oil bath is only good if you are going to pull every day. When they sit any length of time the side that doesn't have the oil on it dries out and will leak. Not sure if that is true but sounded reasonable.

    Electrical Shock while washing RV

I'm glad you want to be safe and hope that happens. Was the unit plugged into high voltage(shore power)? 120/240 volt shore power. If not then a shock from the unit would most likely be from DC power(on board battery). If it was plugged in then it could be either. The word "ground" is used quite...

    Electrical Shock while washing RV

Dan, I do agree with you. Use the non contact for pre-verification on a circuit. The issue is the non contact type device will lie to you. It will at times tell you that you have voltage when you do not and tell you that you do not when you do. NEVER knowingly try to work a live circuit...

    Electrical Shock while washing RV

From reading the thread it appears that a non contact testing device is being used. IMO put it back in the tool box. They have their uses but this is not one of them. In 30+ years of electrical/controls work nothing replaces a good Simpson/Fluke meter. Please do the checks with one for...

    Access to HDMI ports

While I don't have the same camper. Our TV mount has two tabs behind the TV. Push or pull the tabs at the same time and you can lift the TV off the bracket. Part of the bracket stays on the TV.
