    Lights are Dim

I have a 2016 Big Country 4010RD. We got up this morning and all of the lights throughout the coach are dim, maybe 50%. Last night before going to bed they were all normal. My surge protector is indicating everything is all right coming into the coach. My breakers are all okay. Any ideas on what...

    Toilet not flushing

Re: Toilet not flushing - UPDATE I appreciate all of the suggestions. It turns out that I had a huge clog of paper in the chute between the commode and the tank as indicated on an endoscope. I ended up using a piece of service entrance wire to push through that and finally get it in the tank. I...

Lou, I plan to check this out this coming weekend. You may be right that the blockage is at the discharge end. Jim Hull

    Toilet not flushing

Yes, I did try a plunger as well with no change. I am going to go in with an endoscope this weekend to see what I can determine. I hope to find there is a blockage. Then I would have something to deal with. Right now, I have no idea what I am up against. Jim Hull

    Toilet not flushing

Bill, thank you for the suggestion. I am going to use an endoscope to see if I can figure out what my problem is. The company you linked is in the Chicago area and I am on the other end of the state. But, it might be worth a call if I can’t get it figured out.

    Toilet not flushing

I didn’t drop a boot but that is not to say that my DW or our daughter did not. I forgot to mention that I did check the dump valve and it seems to be functioning okay. Dan, I have the setup you linked me to. I will try your suggestion, but I am puzzled why the chute and bowl fill up and...

    Toilet not flushing

Toilet not flushing properly I am having an issue with the commode in my 2016 Big Country 4010RL. It has just started and it is very odd. For several days, when we would flush with the foot vale, the ball would o0en and air would bubble out before the waste went down the chute. Then, last...

    Inverter Status Light

Thanks to all who replied. I actually did the mod about 2years a go, but my cousin was asking me to tell him how I did it because he has a new SOB with a residential fridge and he wanted the peace of mind. I just couldn’t remember all the details.

    Inverter Status Light

Folks, I hope you can help me. A little while back I saw instructions on the forum for a status light mod to indicate your inverter is running while you are driving. It was a small green diode light mounted on the front of the unit, visible from the truck as you are driving. I believe it...

    Parts delay

Unfortunately, I am facing the same situation. I got a little too close to the door of the pole shed I store my BC 4010 RD in as I was turning and swung the rear drivers-side corner into the door, doing some damage to the rear corner. I took it to my dealer who ordered parts on August 28 and...

    Central IL to Alvarado, TX

Hey Twindadtoo, What part of Illinois. We are in Mattoon and took our Big Country down through that area last spring. We were headed to Austin. I would recommend 635 around to 20 as it was an easy drive for us. We avoided the downtown area and made it just fine. Good luck to you.

Big Country 4010RD - What is this switch for?

Erika, I had no idea this rig had "mood" lighting up there. I knew it did above other cabinets, above the table and under the island, but not up there. Probably because I just found the switch a couple weeks ago and when I turned it on it was the middle of the day and I was not looking up...

Big Country 4010RD - What is this switch for?

In the rear entertainment center in my 2016 4010RD, in the middle cabinet on the right hand side of the television is a rocker switch and an electrical outlet. Does anyone know what the rocker switch controls?

    Domestic AC Issue

Re: Dometic AC Issue Bill, Thanks for the info. I will look in to this info and see if any of this might be the problem. I noticed last evening as the coach cooled down and the unit caught up that the unit did less of this. Maybe it was just struggling to keep up. Also, the thermostat was set...

    Fridge/Inverter

My "ground issue" was with the ground cables not being tight from the original install. So, I made sure each ground connection, all the way to the frame, were tight. Loose ground connections will give problems of all kinds until solved. Also, I guess I have a copy of a copy on the green...

    Fridge/Inverter

Our unit shipped with 2 Group 27 batteries, but for peace of mind I added two more. We had issues in the beginning keeping the original two charged for a day, but that turned out to be a ground issue and once I made sure all ground connections were tight we have not had any more issues. We...

    Domestic AC Issue

Dometic AC Issue I am having an issue with the front AC unit on my Big Country 4010. It is cooling fine, but it is running for a while then kicking off and almost immediately, within 10 seconds, kicking back on and running for another full cycle then doing it all again. Our front unit has...

    Wet Bolt Question

I am looking for some advice from those of you who have already taken the wet bolt plunge. I have decided I want to move to wet bolts on my 2016 Big Country 4010 but I am really unsure what kit I need. Given the research I have done, I am leaning toward the Dexter kit just because of the other...

Big Country - Wheel Bearing Grease

Dick, Thanks again for the advice. I called Dexter this morning and they immediately sent me a build sheet on my axles. It is exactly like yours and gives me everything I will ever need to know about my axles. I am going to print it out and keep it with all of the other info on the coach...

Dick, wow!! Thanks for taking the time to dig deeper for me. I think I will be calling Dexter just to confirm I have the right part number just like you did because I want to do it right. I just did a smaller trailer last weekend, so I know it is not that big of a job, and I have a nifty...

    Baggage Door Slam Latches

As an update for anyone considering changing your baggage door locks to the same key as your entry door, I called RVLOCKSANDMORE today to get clarification as to whether this can be done. It can be, depending on who makes your current latches. Mine are made by Southco and they do not have a...

    Baggage Door Slam Latches

As my signature says, we have a 2016 Big Country 4010RD. Does anyone know if the locks on these slam latches can be keyed to match the Global Entry Latch that is standard on the Big Country coaches? I would love to only have one key for all exterior doors, but I do not want to go to the expense...

Suggestions on Where to Stay Near Dallas

Where to run drain pan line on a 3875FB

I will second the information about installing the dryer vent. That was definitely the hardest part of my install. Everything else was fairly straightforward. Just use a stud finder to find the outer wall studs to locate your vent hole. I drilled from the inside until my pilot bit barely...

    Washers and Dryers

Larry, Looking at your floor plan, your dryer will face out into the bedroom facing the door side of the coach. That means that your vent hole on your dryer would be facing directly toward to off-door side and it would make sense to go straight out through the side wall if at all possible...

    Washers and Dryers

Marc, I also used a good quality stud finder, but I also laid out the 4 inch hole and drilled pilot holes around to perimeter to double check. This helped me avoid any studs and drill a clean hole out the side wall. Jim Hull

    Washers and Dryers

Larry, I went through the side wall near where it was marked, but the "Vent Hole Here" sticker was right on top of a metal stud. I am not sure what you would get in to going through the front cap. Jim Hull
