    New Model Information

Hey gang, Sold the Sundance last week to prepare for a new rig in the spring. I have my eye set on a couples 5th wheel 30-35', 10-11,000 lbs. auto leveling with 3 slides, two couches, Washer hookup and an outside kitchen....something Heartland does not offer. I had it narrowed to the Jayco...

    Goodyear Endurance tires

Just go back from Pirateland in Myrtle beach on Saturday and there was a fellow camped behind me with 2 blowouts on the way there. He called a tire service and they put on 4 new Goodyear Endurance tires. They are a new tire that I had never heard of. Turns out they are Goodyears response to...

    Air Bags....2 Questions

I run mine at 60 psi when hauling the 5th wheel. I keep 15 lbs of air in the bags at all times, and hook up first. If I were to add the 60 lbs first, my truck would be too tall for the hitch process. I try to remember to dump the air before unhooking, again, because my truck rises with that...

how many miles per year do you tow your camper

100K! WOW! We did FLA twice, SC twice and the Smoky Mountains and a few weekend trips in between this year. So I'd say between 9-10K.

Campground suggestion near end of SC by I-95

If you want a real nice place close by, It's only 20 more miles to the Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort. My favorite campground so far, and only in 2nd place to Disneys Fort wilderness.

    New 2017 super duty numbers....DROOL!!

Just got off the phone with the PA State police vehicle enforcement 9/12/2016 @ 1:30 PM You can reach them at 717-346-7347. And as I thought, we are all EXEMPT from any combination registration and semi-annual inspections except standard vehicle (PA class 4 or so depending on truck) and your...

    New 2017 super duty numbers....DROOL!!

I think what's confusing everyone on this issue is that we are using light duty trucks to haul non commercially. These PA laws all cite "truck tractors" and those are specially manufactured vehicles designed to only tow trailers (think every tractor trailer you have very seen). And yes, truck...

    New 2017 super duty numbers....DROOL!!

I plan to read up on it, but you should be registered for the truck gross weight only. I can tell you this for now, inspections are only need to be semiannual if you are over 17k gross vehicle weight, not gross combo weight.

    New 2017 super duty numbers....DROOL!!

I have a class a commercial CDL, and work for a semi major construction company and many of the vehicles tow over 10k on a regular basis. None of these vehicles have yellow PA cab cards or get bi-annual inspections except the vehicles that are registered over 26k gvw, which is dictated by the...

    New 2017 super duty numbers....DROOL!!

I live in PA and have to ask why you are registering your SRW 350 for that much weight? The truck can only gross out at 10 or 11k......that should be your reg, not gross combination weight. You're throwing away a lot of cash or no reason. Take a look at that before you renew.

    Getting ready for new tires

Check out the nitto dura grappler. I ran them on my old diesel and thought they were they smoothest, quietest, most stable towing tire I've ever ran. And they looked very aggressive for a highway tire.

    Bicycle transporting

I see this is old, but we haul ours in the bed of the truck. Front tires off, standing upright and just a simple bungee to keep them standing straight. Is this not an option for you guys?

    Landmark Rubber Roof Detachment

Sorry to hear about your roof. I must say though, I am always surprised by the number of 5th wheels I see on the road with the front 3 feet of roof bellowing up in the air like a balloon. I hope mine doesn't do that is all I can think. Looks to me that's exactly what caused your issue.

Hope I fixed corner leak, surprised at findings

I have a 2007 2800rls 5th wheel. I bought it as is for a good deal from a local dealer last winter. I could see it had a leaking rear corner when I bought it. When camping in Hilton Head this month during some insane temperatures and humidity, the opposite corner showed signs of leaking with...

    Disney Fort Wilderness Resort/Campground

Fort Wilderness is our favorite place. My signature pic is gassing up on the way home from there. We have stayed at the Fort 4 times the last 3 years with some extra trips at Lake Magic in Four Corners Fla. Grocery delivery can be had by a few places including green grocer. If you want a lot...

    Ever heard of my hitch?

Talked to BW and sent some pics. They are interested in it, and seem to think it's one of theirs. I did see some stamps on the uprights that it was made in 7 of 2009, and that would be during the great rv depression. I suspect that it was a back door unit that followed someone home. Sent from...

    Changed Bedroom Steps

Changed the bedroom area steps today on my 2800rls from the silly single to a double setup with storage. Some 3/4 plywood and scrap 2x4s was all it took. I added carpet from Lowes for only 9 bucks off of the bulk rolls and 2 small hinges for storage underneath. Much easier to go up and down...

    Ever heard of my hitch?

So I always tell people that I use a bw companion, but the truth is it MIGHT be? I bought it off of Craigslist a few years ago, and without looking too hard I realized a few days later what I thought was the company logo of the previous owner, was actually the name brand of the hitch. It is...

Max EGT for 24 valve 5.9 Cummins

My last truck was a 24v 5.9 Cummins in an 02 Quad Cab Long Bed. I really liked the truck, and consistently got 12 mpg pulling my old wildcat. I ended up selling it because it left us stuck with a cracked injection line that I was amazingly able to find used....on a Saturday. ...in rural...

    RM2852 Not cooling on AC

I'm running a 1 man thread here in case it benefits someone in the future. From what I have read, the thermofuse is really a protection from the boiler overheating and catching the works on fire, normally for running LP. (Mine was probably a retrofit from the big recall way back, AND should...

    RM2852 Not cooling on AC

Took fridge out today, rolled it all around, cleaned the burner tube and checked all of the values with an ohm meter. Plugged it itln, ran it and thermo fuse popped out in 10 minutes. Are these replaceable or able to be checked in some way? There are no signs of leaks or ammonia smells...

    RM2852 Not cooling on AC

Ran on 110 all night, no noticeable cooling in Freezer. I'm going to pull it and "Burp" it when I get home as a last ditch effort. Looks like unplugging it, take off the gas line and find all of the screws allows it to come out. Any insight would be appreciated.

    Fantastic fan running when off

Had a good one today. Dewinterized for a trip next week, and wanted to run the fan. As soon as the vent opened enough, the motor started with the switch in the off position.
