Diassemble 50 amp connector end of cable

I assume you mean the twist lock connector built in to the side of the RV. I took mine apart at midnight a couple of weeks ago. I found that all the lugs holding the wires were loose. The hot had come completely out of the lug and that is why I lost power. Mine had four screws attaching the...

    Anyone used a HawksHead TPMS?

I have had the TST system for 1.5 years now. (Not the new 507 model) When it is working; it works very well. With the supplied extra "T" antenna, I can usually even get the signal from my BH spare tire. It does lose that signal occasionally. I have not been able to figure out a pattern. I...

    3055 Weight Distribution

I had mine weighed at the Goshen rally. The person who weighed it commented on how closely matched it was from side to side. I don't remember the exact weights (print out is in the trailer), but they were very even side to side and on front vs rear axles.

Big Horn 3055 ODS basement door latch

phoenix50 That is the ODS basement door on a BH 3055RL which is a side hinged door. Probably the picture is a little confusing. The picture with the latch shown is looking aft along the side of the trailer. The closed door is the propane door. If it wasn't for that door's latch, a shorter...

    Metal tire stems?

I talked to NTB about getting metal stems installed. The only thing they had was stems where the part that connects to the wheel is rubber that is pulled through the hole like a normal stem but has what looks like a brass end on it where the sensor would be screwed on. I tried to explain that...

Fresh water tank-using it the first time

If your dealer did not do it; you should definitely shock the entire water system with bleach to try and sanitize it. This is even done to brand new houses before first use. This should include ALL the water piping including the hot water heater, ice maker and supplies to all faucets and...

Big Horn 3055 ODS basement door latch

Well, I finally got tired of being hit in the butt by the basement door while doing my husbandly duties of hooking and unhooking. (Sure wish DW would help, but that is a different thread:rolleyes:) I added a latch to hold the door in the open position. Used a 6" t-latch similar to the one for...

Who made the Strawberrypie wit Jello?

strawberry pie DW made the pie; but it so simple even I can do. Buy premade pie crust and bake per directions. (Course I prefer DW's homemade crust, but that takes time:cool:) Let it cool. Could be done days earlier. DW baked that one at home before we left. Use large pack of...

How many ladies out there driving while pulling their 5th wheel?

Well thanks to this thread, I finally got the DW to try her hand. On the way home from the Spring Rally I pulled over on the toll road and she took over. She did great, just as I knew she would. Managed to make it through several expressway changes and exit on to the surface streets. Drove...

towing a 3655RD with my f-250 power stroke

I have an 06 F-250 and I am slightly overloaded on rear axle. I am pulling a 3055RL. I would assume from the model numbers that yours would be longer and heavier than mine. So I would guess you also would be overloaded on rear axle. My next truck will be a 350 dually.:D

Sewer discharge hose storage - North Trail

I don't have a North Trail, but in my previous TT sob, I purchased good quality plastic bins with tight fitting lids. I stored my hoses in these. Of course, I tried to drain as much as possible before putting in the bin, but there was still liquid. Use rubber gloves and tried to leave open to...

    Weights don't add up

You are getting numbers very similar to mine. overloaded on total, but under on each axle. If I knew that what I know now; I would have a 1ton dually. The pin weights will ALWAYS be a lot higher than published. As you can see, yours are about 1000 lbs more than published. Same for mine...

    Olevia TV....again

I will see what I can do from memory. First, did you push the red button on the front TV antenna to get the booster on? As I recall, if it lights up (depressed?), that is for over the air. Then the horrid Olevia menu system. Push menu on remote and a little wheel looking thing pops up...

    Slides in 3055

You cannot get to the pantry door to the left of the refrigerator at all with the slide in. Nice thing is with the valves on the hydraulic unit; you can open just the big slide and just open a little to get full access to refig if more is needed. Without the valves that slide is the last to move.

    Anyone weighed a Cylcone 3210?

I would call it pin weight of 3320. (4960lbs + 6780lbs)- (4880 + 3540) = 3320. Your trailer put a small amount of extra weight on the front axle as expected. Don't know what your trailer is, but doesn't seem hugely out of line.

    what does your 3055RL weigh?

I plan to upgrade to a DRW when I decide to change out. I am pretty sure the SRW will handle your immediate needs with the 3055RL; but what if you decide you need to upgrade in the future. The DRW costs more upfront, costs more to operate and maintain and is a pain to drive around town; but it...

Sub Woofer speaker 3055 big horn

In my 09 3055RL, the subwoofer is a big black box in the cabinet on the left side under the desk. I understand if you have a fireplace that the speaker is behind that. I don't have a fireplace. On my stereo system there is a button on the remote that "tests" the speakers. It generates a tone...

    what does your 3055RL weigh?

I have not done this before so I hope this works. See the link below for my truck/5er weights. //heartlandowners.org/showthread.php?t=5880 In case it doesn't work, here is the short answer. 2006 F-250 crew cab, SRW, super duty, short bed, 6.0l turbodiesel 2009 Bighorn 3055RL All loaded up...

    2004 F250 & 2009 Sundance 2998RB

Michigandsl I believe you have the math correct. Surprising isn't it? I bought my F-250 first then bought my BH 3055. When I weighed the packed unit I was surprised to find myself overloaded on the rear axle, not the front axle, not the total weight? Doesn't make sense to me but that is...

    Putting on the Spare

When I picked up my BH, I found the tool, but it would not fit onto the crank. The dealer did some grinding/modifications to it so that it would fit. Then I lowered the tire and had the dealer turn it over so the stem was facing down so I could maintain pressure. Checked the pressure, and it...

    internal floorplan dimensions?

HI Chris and congratulations. I went out and took some measurements on my 3055RL. It is in the shed so the slides were not all the way out so some of these measurements are really additions and subtractions. (wish I had a simple drawing program, I could draw it up.) I will try to describe...

    Tying down the electric awning

Sue made us one of those shades to add to the awning. Went to Home Depot and bought a box of outdoor awning material. Bought a length of screen spline material. Sue sewed the spline in to a hem on the awning material. Now it slides into the groove very easily. A quick tie holds it in place. Now...

    Timbrens

    King size bed

We did a mid point between these. First we found a place that would make a custom size mattress. Not an unreasonable price. Try looking for custom boat fitters. They all need a custom size/shape mattress. I found two on the south side of Houston. Then I cut the top platform down to just...

Bighorn winter storage, slides in or out

If you go to the Lippert site and look at recommendations on the slide mechanism; they recommend storing the slides in the closed position if storing for "long" periods. Of course I did not see a definition of "long". Personally, if I was storing outside; I would always pull them in. I...

    Power Awning????

You have noted the negatives to the power awning. I have not found a way around either of them. On the other hand, I find myself using the awning more than when I had a manual one. It is so easy to just push the button and in or out it goes. No more remembering which levers to push, buttons...

    running from the storm
