    Air cond. Ductwork

Yes, nothing would have happened if they hadn't taken the ball and run with it. That's interesting that they've changed their design, but it still doesn't excuse their poor attitude in dealing with my problem and because of that they've lost any repeat business from us. You have fun camping, too.

    Air cond. Ductwork

Yes, they finally paid the dealer and partially reimbursed me, but only after way too much discussion between myself, Explore USA and the Director of Warranty Service. It should have been, yes sir we see your problem and we will get it fixed right away. Nothing really started happening until I...

    Air cond. Ductwork

Final update on my battle with Heartland on this issue. The director of Warranty Services agreed to reimburse us part of what we had to spend to get this issue resolved( slightly less than half of our documented expenses). Another thing that came up in our conversation was that they did...

    Air cond. Ductwork

That's the same approach I'm going to take. I'm going leave the lip in the back in order to try and catch additional air. - - - Updated - - - Just to update our situation with Heartland Corporate, I received a reply to my request for reimbursement. However, it was not acceptable, since they...

    Air cond. Ductwork

Thanks for the info, but I think I'm going to try and modify the existing vent flanges first after I bring it home in September.

    Air cond. Ductwork

I agree that it would be nice if their quality was as good as Toyota's and for what we pay for these RV's it should be. Just relating my experience dealing with Heartland, which has not been up to my expectations. Explore USA on the other hand really stepped to try to help us with Heartland's...

    Air cond. Ductwork

Wow, I don't feel so bad now. All I can say is that you're much more forgiving than I am. After retiring from a lifetime of working in quality control and assurance, it's my opinion that Heartland has a flawed QC/QA process. There is no excuse for that many obvious production errors, which is...

    Air cond. Ductwork

Yes, I talked to a fellow at Heartland with the last name of Wiggent, who was absolutely no help. That is why I turned to the dealer, who solved our problem in a very expeditious manner. Also, the repair service I deal with at Port Aransas said he won't even do warranty work on Heartlands...

    Air cond. Ductwork

Like I said, overall we really like the RV, but the response we got from Heartland Corporate has totally soured us on them. As far as the design goes, I disagree with you and our dealer agreed with us. They feel that Heartland need to issue a recall for this issue. Coincidently, there was...

    Air cond. Ductwork

We bought it in Boerne, but since we live closer to the Seguin store, that's the one we use for service. They filled the dead air space in the rear duct with spray foam, patched some leaks in the duct work(leaking cold air into the walls behind the thermostat and behind the toilet) and...

    Air cond. Ductwork

We have a Big Country 3650RL 2016, which wouldn't keep the living area comfortable due to air flow problems(no air coming out of the center vent). Since we take it to the Texas coast for the summer, this is a big problem. After having local RV repair service diagnose the situation and doing...

We keep our shades down during the heat of the day, too. Helps, but not enough. Thanks for the info. Where are you staying?

    New Big Country

We bought our Big Country last September and love it except that the a/c's don't move enough cold air into the living area. I saw your thread about the same problem and am going to try some of the ideas posted. Hopefully, they will help since its at Port Aransas for the summer.

How many owners have had their dometic A/C replaced recently due to failure?

Had to have both of the Dometic A/C's replaced on our 2016 Big Country after the second trip we took in April. Was done under warranty because they weren't drawing the proper amperage.
