    Batteries

You need deep cycle RV/Marine batteries for your RV. I used to use Interstate RV/Marine deep cycle batteries before we switched to lithium. You could take your existing battery to an Interstate store or any good auto parts store and they can fix you up with the proper size.

Andersen Ultimate 5th wheel latch cable sticks

We've been using the Andersen Ultimate hitch with our big Cyclone for many years with no problems with the pin. I wonder if either the dealer or the storage facility tried to attach their forklift to the hitch when the pin was partially extended when they tried to hook up to it. That's all I...

    Low point drains

Not sure about the Road Warrior but our Cyclone has the one drain you mention on the driver side for draining the fresh water tank. But on the passenger or door side of the rig, there are two drains, red and blue, that drain the plumbing system. Ours are located near the front entry door.

    Need Lithium Capable Charger

I bought a Progressive Dynamics converter/charger from etrailer.com when we installed lithium batteries in our Cyclone. The Progressive Dynamics 9300 lets you select flooded, AGM or lithium battery on the charger.

Cleaning inside glass of Greystone F2609E electric fireplace?

We don't have the same model fireplace as you, but on our Greystone I did have to remove the fireplace mounting screws and pull out the unit a few inches. There is a frame on the outside I pulled up and off to get to the mounting screws. Then I slid the entire fireplace out a few inches...

    OWNERS MANUALS

Heartland doesn't publish model specific owners manuals. They have a generic owners manual that covers all their models. When you purchased your unit you should have received an owners manual - ours was on a flash drive in the package of manuals delivered with the rig. Or you can download the...

    New Bighorn line up??

I saw it too. I had read where Heartland is redesigning some of their models, so maybe there is a new version of the Bighorn coming soon.

    Sewer smell from battery

The same thing happened to us when we were still using flooded cell deep cycle batteries in our Cyclone. Bad sewer type smell in the garage that I finally traced to a bad battery. Same as you experienced, a couple cells in one of the batteries were dry and overheating. Ours was only 2 years...

    Dometic Cycling a lot.

Yes, the Micro Air thermostat works in totally Auto mode, or you can select just Cool or Heat. We've been using these thermostats on all 3 or our Dometic AC units and love them. I really like being able to access the thermostat settings via wifi when we are away from the RV.

    water hoses

Concur with the Jess's. We have been using the Zero G drinking water hoses for several years with our Cyclone and absolutely love them. Light, easy to handle and roll up, and hold up very well to use. I ordered ours from Amazon.

Fresh water drain dripping from empty tank

When connecting your Coleman grill, keep in mind that it has a built in pressure regulator to work with those small high pressure propane tanks. But the propane from the RV quick connect is already low pressure, so your grill won't have enough propane pressure to work properly. You have to...

    Furrion Cooktop FGH4ZSA Center Burner

These burners should each have a wire probe called a thermocouple that detects the heat from the flame. If it's not detecting heat from the flame correctly it will shut off the gas flow. I've had similar problems on other propane devices and that's usually the culprit. Not sure how you check...

New tires for my 2006 Landmark Shenandoah

We've had good luck with the Hartland ST trailer tires available from Discount Tire. They went to Alaska on our Cyclone and have held up very well. Current price is about $141 each.

    Heartland cyclone 3611js hd

We have a 2018 Cyclone 4005, so not the same model that you are looking at. We have had similar experiences to what David mentioned above. The only major issue we have had is the same sidewall crack at the large slideout, and our rig was out of warranty. But as we first noticed the crack...

    Free Overnight Stays

If you like to boondock overnight fairly frequently, you might consider a Harvest Hosts membership. There are hundreds of places where members can spend the night with no camping fees. Costs $99 a year but may be worth it if you travel a lot.

2019 CY3600 - Potential Purchase Any Lessons Learned Appreciated

And the weight adds up quickly. We use the garage area in our Cyclone 4005 as extra living space, no toys, so I've never been really concerned with weight. When I finally weighed our 3 axle Cyclone 4005 at a CAT scale and did the math, we were carrying right at 2,000 pounds, and that was with...

    Quality concerns

Every manufacturer out there seems to have some issues with their rigs. Not making excuses for them, but that's seems to be the way it is for just about every RV builder. Being handy and able to fix minor things yourself really helps. As for Heartland, yes, there are some people who have had...

    Tanks heated? Test Onan Generator?

On Cyclone's, the switches are actually different than what David mentioned above. According to Heartland, the Yeti switch is the one for the tank heating pads, not the waterline. The red switch is actually the waterline heat tape. Here are links to the Heartland explanations:

Advertised height of the Road Warrior RW375

Yes, it includes the A/C units. The height listed in the specs always includes the highest features on the roof for clearance. But that being said, it's always best to check your particular rig. When we had independent suspension installed on our Cyclone, Morryde measured our rig before...

    22 bighorn traveler coax inputs

Our rig has a diagram on the inside of the docking station compartment door that illustrates what these are for. There is usually one input by itself, which is the cable TV input. That feeds all the TV's through a splitter inside the RV. On ours, four of the connections are grouped together...

    Bypass valve

Not sure on the 4006, but in our 4005 it's located in the basement storage area mounted on the wall. It's just on the wall that runs next to where the water heater is.

    Electrical issues Bighorn 3055RL

You could take the battery to an auto parts store and have it tested to see if it's bad. We had one of our batteries go bad after only 2 years. And if there is room for a 2nd battery, I'd put it in. That will give you more standby power when not plugged into shore power.

2013 Big Country Rim and Fenderskirt

Creaking, cracking and other noises for my Bighorn 2018

    Salt Lake City

We stayed at the KOA in the north part of downtown Salt Lake City. I was surprised it was pretty easy to get in and out of even with the closeness to downtown. It's not in the best part of town, but the KOA was very well maintained and we were fine there for 3 nights.

    Morryde Latch Extensions

I overlapped the trim. That's why I added a bead of silicone across the top just to make sure it sealed well. I've read where some people cut the trim, but I didn't want to do that just in case we ever took these door locks off.

    Morryde Latch Extensions

Just re-read this thread and saw the comment about RV Locks not fitting on the tall glass Cyclone doors. We installed the compact model on our Cyclone doors. Yes, they overlap the window trim a bit. But I found the foam gasket on the RV Lock nicely filled in the little gap that was there...

    2015 Big Horn 3750FL

Just FYI for cost comparison. We recently had one of our Dometic AC units replaced by a mobile RV service. Total of about $1500: $1250 for the new unit, and the remainder for labor for removing the old unit and installing the new one.

Fresh Water Tank Hauling full or empty

There are a wide variety of opinions on this one, and it's primarily a matter of personal preference. We always travel with our fresh water tank about 1/3 full since I like to be prepared if we need it. You might hit a rest stop or roadside turnout where you want to use some water. And if the...

lithium battery / 30amp power supply

We just upgraded to lithium batteries in our 2018 Cyclone, and I did replace the converter/charger with a lithium compatible one. The Progressive Dynamics one in our rig was not rated for lithium batteries. You could check the model number of your charger and check their website to see if it's...

    Back up camera 2022 fuel

We use the Furrion Vision S camera on our Cyclone. Works great as an observation camera. I use it basically as a rear view so I can see what's going on behind while heading down the road. I've found it helps a lot. I bought the version that also has the side view cameras, but I've found I...

Where are all the Landmarks, Big Horns and Big Country's??

Interesting that today on RV.com, Camping World's website, they name the Big Horn as one of the best 5th wheel RV's of 2023. So at least someone out there is still promoting the Heartland rigs!

5th Wheel Length to Maximize Park Access

We travel with a 45 foot long Cyclone, and if you plan ahead you can almost always find places to accommodate rigs that large. Yes, you won't be able to stay inside most national parks. But there are usually commercial campgrounds just outside the parks where you can stay. We haven't found...
