2008-December 5th Wheel Trailer Sales Ranking

Hello Jim, Thanks for all the great information. It seems Thor's numbers are unfair because they are a holding company for so many sub-manufacturers. It is like comparing your offspring to your grandfathers offspring. The real comparison should be at the level of each sub-manufacturer such...

    another hitch question

I hope you will post back with the answer. I personally have had concerns with the 22" neck of the Sidewinder and undue stress it puts on the 5th wheel pinbox pieces that connect to the rig.

Who is that handsome fella in the video?

    Just got weighed

BobSue, Are these scales shared by big rig truckers running the hwys all day? Reason I ask is I have heard other comment they felt too rushed and didnt want to hold up the big rigs. Are there scales for those like us RV'ers to use without causing delays?

    Outside control panel access

Thanks for the comments. Those are all good points. I guess thats why I suggested perhaps a split door so all your sewer hookup equipment is there, but when doing other things like draining, access thru a smaller door might be handy. With our rig, everything is behind its own individual door...

    Heartland published weights

OK, Im back. Now be nice...just because Ive been looking at others. :) More questions: Our SunnyBrook is wonderful...just too small now considering full timing. Camping World carries Cedar Creek and Montana. Both offer floor plans we like - basically the 3500RL or a variation of such...

2008-May 5th Wheel Trailer Sales Ranking

I thought I posted against this thread but dont see it. I know this is an old thread. I believe Thro also bought Keystone (Montana and Cougar) and Airstream about 2-3 years ago. The sales only tells a money story. They dont reflect quality. Here is a link that will but Im not sure Heartland...

    Outside control panel access

Hello, Im not a Heartland owner yet, but I think this weekend (8/23/08) we are going to visit a dealer. I have a question about the access panel to the water and electric controls. In the Bighorn video: The control access door is shared with a very large storage compartment door. Would it...

Heartland 5th Wheel Trailers - Where they rank based on Retail registrations

Hello, I know this is an old thread, but this link may well apply. You may already be aware of it. I dont know if Heartland has been included as they are a relatively new company compared to others, but I believe this CD that can be bought addresses almost all others. I have not seen the CD...

    Heartland published weights

Thanks, Chris for your very direct :) reply/request. My major focus is on pin and overall weights. The reason is most vehicle (trucks) towing (hoziontal) and hauling (verical) rating are so disproportional. I have followed discussions on the RV.net forum since about 2001 when we first bought...

    Heartland published weights

Well, thanks again everyone for your replies. It seems everyone is in favor of the information being provided, either the specific weights or enough information so one could derive a weight closer than what appears in brochures. Perhaps Ill take an approach when we are closer to a decision to...

    Heartland published weights

Thanks, Mark and Tom. Yes, Im sure Gelcoat is very heavy. But I dont believe this is an option - or so rare the other(?) should be the option with a deduct on weight. And weights a sensitive subject to whom? It is a sensitive subject to me. Perhaps the 'leader' could use this as a selling...

    Heartland published weights

Thanks to all, Greg and Ray in particular. All good comments. Personally (but Im sure there are some) Im not nearly as concerned with the length because whether it is 32' or 35' long, it is a long trailer. If I were buying a storage shed to park it, it would then be a concern. The...

    Heartland published weights

Hello, I am very interested in a Heartland product, but I am curious what it is about the RV industry that they never update their brochure weights. They reprint, republish and add new floorplans but the published weights are far from close. It isnt just Heartland...they are all the same. I...

Magnetic door prop I ordered mine online as I couldnt find anything locally. Here is a couple options: This chrome might hold up a little better too although mine dont look bad after 3+ years. http://www.thehardwarehut.com/catalog-product-specs.php?p_ref=10909&q= and nice gray...

Bighorn Entertainment Systems Standards and Options

Thanks, Jim. Knowing my own 'stubborness' and what I have read in just a couple posts, it might make sense to at least 'offer' a choice by the buyer. I realize that different units vary in cost, size, hole and cable locations, templates for different speakers vary but Heartland seems to be...

Bighorn Entertainment Systems Standards and Options

Hello, I have a question similar but related to the OP. Sometimes there are particular brands/models of electronics that I would like to have. They may not be available from the RV mfg as an option. My question is - is there any standard wiring included when an option itself is not included...

    Simple Modifications

Hello, I'm still new to this forum. Hope this is the right place suggest to the mfg. I have spent much time on the rv.net forum and often enjoy exchanging ideas for simple modifications that just make camping more enjoyable. One thing I really like that I did for my own rig was put a...

    Just got weighed

Hello BobSue, I'm new to this forum and very interested in this post. I am interested in a Heartland product likely from the Big Country lineup. I too have an F250 Ford, but mine is a 2001 and the GVWR is lower than yours by 1000#. Only thing in my favor is airbags, but that doesn't change...
