GMC 2011 Urea Tank Problems -- They do exist!

Dan, thanks for that information. I have it in hand to take to the dealer with me when I return next week. Good information. As I left the dealer today I noticed my 08 sitting on the lot . . . as I passed I whispered "I miss you" :). Jim

GMC 2011 Urea Tank Problems -- They do exist!

Well it happened. Just 19 days after purchase and less than 700 miles on the odometer I got my first DIC message indicating my Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) was limited to 998 miles. We discussed the new emission regulations with the 2011 Diesel’s and the addition of the Urea Tanks in a past...

    Docking Station Valve Question

Dave, thanks for the input. I have traced both of these valves from behind the wall. The one labeled low point drain does in fact go directely to a hose that extends through the belly of the cyclone and is a low point drain, however, it is the only one. The valve I have in question I cannot...

    Docking Station Valve Question

I have one valve in my docking station (2008 Cyclone 3912) that has no label and the manual does not make any referenced to it. I am hoping one of you with a similiar or same docking station can identify the valve for me. The valve in question is in the left hand photo and would be the valve...

    Truck, Towing & Hitch Advice

As always with this particular question there are many opinions and I am about to add mine. I recently purchased a 2011 GMC 2500HD Duramax/Allison Crew cab 4X4 Sierra. Even though I am fond of the GM product I researched all three makes. 2011 models of the Dodge, Ford and GM are very...

    Stop The Bucking

Really appreciate everyone's comments on this issue of "bucking" and the remedy's many have tried. I decided to stay with my current hitch and go with the Trail Air Tri Glide Air Ride Pin Box. Purchased it today and scheduled to have it put on in May after I get the snow off the cover. I...

    2011 Duramax Questions

Took possession of my 2011 GMC Sierra 2500HD Duramax/Allison last night. Spent most of the night reading the manuals, etc. I spent today playing with all the bells and whistles and a drive through the Northland. She sure is sweet riding and driving. I know we will have below freezing temps...

    Stop The Bucking

DW and Ziggy, again thanks for the information. DW good information on the "time consuming" process of lifing the cyclone to hitch level with electric (which I have) and Ziggy you have me thinking about the center point. Thanks again.

    Stop The Bucking

Thanks to all for your comments and information on hitches and pin boxes. Lots of good information provided. Might be the time to upgrade the hitch. Will make my decision after attending a couple of RV shows here in Mn this week and next. Will check back here to see if any further...

    Stop The Bucking

I will be taking possession of a new truck (2011 GMC 2500 HD Durmax/Allison) in a few days. While removing my current hitch (Husky Slider 16K) from the old truck I gave some thought to the bucking that occasionally went with towing our cyclone (2008 3912) on rough roads. Looking for advice from...

Bed cover with 5th wheels - what are you using?

I am a big time believer in the Access line of covers and have had three installed on different trucks. The last one I installed is the Access Tool Box Edition Truck Cover that butts up to a tool box. The web site is: http://www.agricover.com/index.php/products/category/C31/. I believe this...

Looking for information on the 2011 GM HD3500 6.6 Duramax crew cab single tire 6.5 box.

Mike, Several variances are involved with max tow capacities, i.e., crew cab; four wheel drive, bed length, ball-hitch, fifth wheel, etc. The GMC/Chevrolet Trailer Guide states the following for the 2011 GM HD3500 6.6 Duramax crew cab single tire 6.5 box you mentioned. 2WD is 17,200 and 4WD...

    2011 Duramax Questions

I sure did not mean to walk all over the above posts with my comments to Hillsonwheels. When I signed in all I saw was the post which said "Us dummies gotta know" and saw no other posts. After posting my comments I then saw all others. Rick, thanks for your additional information and what...

    2011 Duramax Questions

Dick, After my purchase of the 2011 GMC a friend of mine asked me about the urea tank and I had the same response you had. I did some investigating and guess what . . . I had just bought one. More commonly known as Diesel Exhaust Fluid or DEF. The refill point is mounted under the hood of...

    2011 Duramax Questions

Gary, I hate to hear your comment on cold weather and the 2011 Duramax. We live in Duluth, MN . . . need I say more. I currently have a 2008 Chev 2500 HD Duramax/Allison combination that has performed flawlessly in temps that consistently reach in the minus area for days at a time. I pulled...

    Truck bed covers

Nathan, I have had three chevy's and on each one I put an ACCESS Roll Up cover. Very low profile and easy to use. I am sold on these as far as soft covers go. They also make one that butts up to a bed tool box, which I now have. I currently have a low profile tool box with the access cover...

    Replacing outside flood lights

I have a 3912. I have changed one bulb only. To do it I simply removed the four screws, removed the lens and replaced the bulb (same bulb as used on the inside lights) with no caulking. Hope this helps, but a ladder will do you more good.

    Good First Year

Took possession of our 2008 3912 last October while living in Illinois. Used it only twice before putting it in storage. Since that time we have relocated to the Duluth, MN and had a full year of use with the Cyclone. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute in it. Mostly camped in the regional area...

    RV Cover Tips Needed

We have a Cyclone 3912 that has always been stored indoors. We recently relocated to the Duluth, MN area and indoor storage for this size rig is not financially feasable. I purchased a top of the line (Sunbrella Material) custom cover. It arrived the other day and while I understood it would...

    plugged fuel filter

Mine gelled also. I have an 08 Silverado Duramax/Allison that currently has 11,000 plus miles on it. I have my Duramax on a 5000 mile service/tire rotation schedule with changing the fuel filter every 10,000 miles. Two weeks ago I was returning from Central Illinois, where I had purchased...

    New owner of cyclone 3914

TB, it is frustrating to say the least. I am going to call the factory and get some answers as it makes no sense to put quality work into other areas of the cyclone and then when it comes to this sink to drain it into a bucket -- I don't think so. Hopefully they can come up with some answers.

    New owner of cyclone 3914

Garage Sink Drainage We recently purchased a 2008 3912 and used it one time last year. Discovered that the sink that had been installed in the garage leaked at the faucet (faucet is flexible and plastic -- not a high quality product) and the drain hose would not drain. The drain hose runs into...

Any problem with the number of dogs?

I would hate to choose between rving and my boxers -- but the boxers stay. These post's come as a bit of a surprise to me. New Cyclone Owners

My wife and I have talked about a fifth wheel toy hauler since seeing our first one at the Minnesota State Fair in 1994 which was a Featherlite Horse Hauler with living quarters. Finally, last October at the Indianapolis Fall RV and Boat show we saw our first Heartland, really liked what we saw...
