Icarry 14 gallons of gas for the generator in a tankthat is gravity flow. if you bought one new you could caryy water in it.it lays flat in the very back of my truck. How long are you out for? I have filled my tank three showering for four days and have not used it all. i am not sure what...
Just had to have my fuel pump replaced with 36 miles remaining on my Ford warranty. Reading this about turbos realy means I need to find an extended warranty. Any thoughts on good ones and price/ Maybe just through Ford?
Did buy one of those thermometers to check tire heat. My truck and trailer...
I have over 550 hours on mine. the exhaust goes toward the rear then off to the driver's side. Some heat goes straight down but not much. With the front cover on the generator the unit nor the casing gets hot.
Tried to send earlier. On our way to Illinois we were following a tow behind and they were running 80 miles an hour. I had just finished telling my wife an aunt that on the forum they really recommended not going 80. The tire blew throwing rubber everywhere. I thought for a minute it might role...
Sometimes I get very confused trying to decide what is correct. I have a 16K Husky hitch and pull a Razor toyhauler. I have pulled it about 2 1/2 years and everything seems to be working great. yet if many seem to be going to bigger hitches should I? I recently went to 16 inch Michelon tires...
i have one of the units that only vents through the window, no water to drain. I have the small one and when it is 99 degrees it will bring my garage down to the mid 60s with four dogs back there.
I have the 80 gallon from Northern Tool and it is gravity fed. I love it and the additional weight is not noticed in my 450. I wish when I ordered I would have purchased one with the built in tool box or the L shaped one that you can put a tool box on.
On our trip to Mo. in May I fueled at...
One of our professors was not allowed to enter Cananda last week with her three year old daughter until she could prove the father had no objections to the child leaving the country. More specifically, she was not allowed to leave the US.
I don't know anything about the numbers but I have had for over two years an AC in my garage that vents outside and the unit stays inside and it keeps my dogs real cool and have never had a problem. I also have a small beverage refrigerator back there and they both are on most times we travel.
The four of us ended up staying at Wal-mart one night each going and coming from St. Louis. Did not have anything to do with money but convience. We asked both times and received permission and parked where requested. The trash thing can be amazing that people just leave theirs. We always pick...
I have a coleman grill that uses the little bottles. I purchased one of the hoses from CW and used it maybe twice. Started having trouble with the regulator. When I ordered the new regulator the lady at coleman told me they did not recommend the hoses to a larger tank but to stay with the little...
Over the years backing the RV has lead to WWIII in our household. With the 5er that part got worse. A friend hard wired a camera for me and it has made life a lot simpler.
Twice on a trip to St. Louis recently I got into situations that before would have caused great difficulty. With the camera...
You guys are looking at this entirely wrong. We need someone to keep us safe. It is obvious our parents did not love us and they actually needed help in raising all of us and they just did not know it. After all they must agree because as they became Grandparents the rules changed. My Dad chewed...
I run one AC on the generator for the dogs in my toy hauler. By accident this weekend I ran with the roof AC on while traveling as well as the little one in the back and it was fine.
Normally we turn on the AC the minute we stop and start a fan. Dosen't take long to cool off.
Of course we are seeing reports of road flooding between SC and Mo. We have a trip starting a week from today and we are also seeing more rain predicted. Is there any good source to get very current road closings? I can see we will be in route and may have to detour due to flooding/bridge out?
I have a Heartland Razor that has actual steps going up to the loft. Looks like under those steps would be ideal storage since we never seem to have enough. There are about 6 steps and I was hoping to make storage as I have seen some do with the stairs going to the bedroom. Any idea if that...
You can hear the water heater when it is heating the water. Just stand next to the vent and listen. I have a 10 gallon and when dry camping we turn it off when not needed and start it about 15 minutes prior to showering in the morning. It is hot in 15 minutes.
In the beginning I also went thorugh fuses as youa re doing. Finally took it in and the extended warranty and lippert took care of installing a new motor. it has now worked for one year. it was very frustrating and someone recommended I go to a larger fuse. Factury representative said no way. i...
Bseitz, don't feel bad. I have my rig for over two years and just found a switch to operate the electric part of the hot water heater. One inside one outside. Looked and looked but never saw the other switch. Terry pointed it out this past weekend.
Since I saved money and did not get 4x4. When I know I am camping where the rains may really make getting out difficult I carry two buckets of sand. Saved me in Savannah. Don't help if you leave them at home.
I also carry a Balck and Decker vehicle jump box in case we leave the generator off to...
I use the stand up type purchased from Lowes for the toy hauler part where my dogs are. It keeps that part very cool. On real hot days in the front part of the terailer we use a fan to circulate the air. Ours never gets real hot in either place.
Cool! my grandfather was an engineer on the Santa Fe. Rode from down state to Chicago a few times on his train.
May I ask what they charged to install the Rieco Titan? We are going to get a demonstration at the rally this weekend. I have been looking at it but it is pricey and I don't want to...
four of us in RVs/motorhomes will be traveling to Mo. in May. We had planned to spend the night at a Wal-Mart in Nashville. Would this be wrong? We purchased the wal-mart travel listing of all the wal-marts and intended to double check with the store manager. We will be putting out the slides...
I definately do not use blocks under the front jacks. I did it wrong one time and pushed the trailer off the blocks I had up front and when the trailer hit the ground I had the thickness of a piece of paper between the 5th wheel and my truck bed. One little bit more and I would have been paying...
Re: F450 Insurance plus 5th wheel
I had my 350 for over 20 years and now have an F450 and love it. The one piece of advice I would offer is make sure whatever you buy you get it big enough to grow. Over the years I have known so many people that buy an RV smaller than they end up with and then...
I have a 2010 F450 and love it. Was leary of the new one with the Ford diesel but have heard good things from some people that have purchased that engine. My truck pulls the Razor really well and I have close to 30K and no issues. Mileage is not the greatest but to be honest I only go from a...
I just installed my stabilizers this weekend and completed my first "mechanical" modification. Only cracked my hand a couple of times. next trip out we will see if they do what we hope.
I purchased the extended warranty on my RV. It came with a soda/beer refrigerator in the garage part made by Haier. it has stopped working. Warranty place says yes it is covered even though it was an add on by either the manufacture or dealer. All I have to do is take it to a RV dealer that is...
