I have you beat. I have a '17 F350 with 5000 miles. Got a seasonal site just after buying truck. Truck rarely gets driven as wife and I both have other vehicles.
Window seal Bighorn used was JUNK. We had 3 windows removed and re sealed under warranty first year and just had to have the rear window pulled and re sealed 2 weeks ago out of pocket. Our 2017 is our 3rd Bighorn, and the only one we have had problems with.

Was your radio off? We have to have the radio off to get OTA channels. The antenna on the radio uses the same coax as the tv.

I was on Heartland website tonight and noticed the 3970RD is being replaced by the 3980. Looks like it is a raised rear den. More steps! Big mistake in my opinion. With the large basement in the 3970, there is no need to raise the rear den to add more outside storage. It is now chopped up and...
I have had both Dish and Directv. Directv is easier to set up. We have had both for our home at the same time. We have had Dishnetwork for the last three years because of Directv's constant price increases. You never knew what your bill would be when you opened it up. My Parents just switched...
I don't see what camper you have , but on our last Bighorn the vacuum breaker for the black tank flush went up behind the shower valves also. The vacuum breaker started leaking a lot, giving us water from under shower pan. I replaced it with a good brass one, and accessed it from shower faucet...
We have a 17 with the new roof. It is noticeably quieter when raining and easier to cool than our 13 with the old roof design. The A/C is much quieter than the old one also. It was a great improvement!

Another vote for the Ford F350 Dually. As far as what engine to stay away from, it would be the 6.0L. The 7.3 and 6.7 are great, and the 6.4 was pretty good too. 6.0, not so good!
You had the TrailAir pin box that there were some problems with the lower slide plate separating so they discontinued it. I am still using that same one with no problems. The new one to take it's place is called the FlexAir.
Thanks to all for the replies to this. I emailed pictures to my dealer on Sunday. I received a call from the service manager already at 10:30 this morning telling me that they sent this in to Heartland and that they were going to cover the repair. Not only do I have a great dealer, but Thank...
Thank you for your idea BigJim. If this was the smaller coffered beams I would do that. This is a large decorative arched beam that divides the kitchen from the rear and I don't think brad nails would hold up.

We have a 2017 Bighorn 3970rd that is one month out of warranty. We had our dealer fix all warranty items we noticed last fall and just pulled the unit home this spring from dealer. Thanks to mother nature still dumping snow on us, we finally got in there this weekend. Wife noticed the...
That is what I thought when I saw those pictures also. Watch some youtube videos, get the supplies and clean up the areas that need to be fixed before applying new sealant. You can do it yourself for well under $100.00 with a little elbow grease. If you do not have time or are uncomfortable...
If Camping World did the work the first 2 years and now it needs a complete strip, they did very poor workmanship the first two times. I call foul, take it to another trusted dealer unless Camping World will stand behind their work. I would not return there for work in the future either.
I would be very hesitant on this also. Sounds like they are trying to say all the roof caulking needs to be replaced if they are using self leveling sealant. Did you check and maintain your roof caulking each year with your maintenance schedule? I still strongly doubt that it is all that bad. I...
I am on my third Bighorn and have a great dealer, but we still have looked at other brands. We have always walked away with either current brochures or at least up to date information on SOB's websites. I understand that Heartland has 27 brands, but I would think they should make updated...
Re: Buying a 2017 F450 Platinum Ultimate
Uconnect does add a few features for the $149/year, but not a hotspot. That is an additional $9.99/day or $19.99/wk or $49.99/month and it is only 3G speed. I do like their system better than Ford's Sync though.
Re: Buying a 2017 F450 Platinum Ultimate
Thanks for the updates. If there is a change in part number, please post it for the rest of us that are waiting for you to be the test pilot on this before we purchase.
Re: Buying a 2017 F450 Platinum Ultimate
Maybe is is not on the Super Duty's like it is on the F150. Like I said, I have not installed it on mine yet. How much $$ was that module you have to add? I have been going to set this up the last couple weeks and haven't yet. Glad you filled us on on...
Re: Buying a 2017 F450 Platinum Ultimate
Jim, I think on the the '17 you can just download the Fordpass app and link it to your VIN and and you can start/stop and lock and unlock doors with no other mods. I have not done it on mine yet, but did set it up on my Dad's F150 a couple months ago...
Just set your headlight switch to auto, and I think push lever for high beams on. It reacts quicker than I can. It is one of my favorite features! It will only work after it is completely dark outside.
We removed our chairs in the last two Bighorns. Flip them over and remove the round base. Your back will thank you for it! It is only 4 bolts.

We have had our 3970 since March, and have not had an issue with space around stove top. There is the additional space of the center island and the front counter. We do grill and cook outside a lot also. What is really nice is the extra seating when entertaining on days you can't be outside. The...
I do not see what you have for a camper, but we found out with our 2017 Bighorn that you need to have the stereo off when scanning for channels. The stereo antenna also uses the same coax and antenna that the TV uses and must cause interference.
Congratulations! We did the same thing back in July but haven't had a chance to pull with it yet as we have a seasonal campsite. I love the truck though!
I am glad I am not the only one who disliked it. We almost bought a Big Country 3560SS as we loved that floorplan, but I could not get past the ugly grey floor and counter tops! Bought 2017 Bighorn 3970 instead.
Porthole- I have never needed to use the ESP, but that is what the dealer that originally tried to sell it to me old me when I asked the question about going in for more than one thing .
rcox- did not have a problem with the install of the Firestone bags but I don't have the factory fifth wheel...
Keep in mind that the $50.00 deductible is for each thing you take it in for. If you take it to dealer for 2 different problems, it is $50.00 each. Ford ESP is the only one to get, and look at Flood Ford ESP for the cheapest. I have bought it for two different trucks and they are awesome...
