Hi
Hi Doug & Lynne.....Good to hear from you two. We were not too far south of you in the summer of 2007, we had taken US-2 out from the U.P. of Michigan to Glacier National Park. Those mountains were beautiful, and the wildlife sometimes TOO friendly. I had a Bighorn Sheep that wanted a...

Hi Opepper.....Yes we sure will miss the Traveling and meeting so many nice people.
I'm emailing you information.......
Tom & Sharol
Wolverine MI
Welcome....
Welcome to the Northland John and Darlene. We're just down the road about 10 miles at our home near exit 301 on I-75, Wolverine MI.
Don't have our Bighorn out though....
Enjoy.....
Thanks....
Hi Chuck and Saundra & John and Sue. Thanks for your wishes. We missed the great time we had before at Elkhart, and the great treatment we had from Heartland.
We might take a run up to St. Ignace without the Bighorn, at least to say hello. We're only about 48 miles away.
Sharol...
UPDATE:
Package deal, 2006 Bighorn 3055RL AND 2006 GMC 2500 Ext Cab w/DuraMax and Allison, 4WD, 56,000 miles. Contact us for price.
We sadly have to sell our 2006 Heartland Bighorn 3055RL Fifth Wheel Trailer. I have a medical condition that prevents me from driving over about 150 to 200 miles...
Nuvi 750
I think you'll all be happy with the Nuvi 750. We purchased one (at a much higher price) a year ago and have been very satisfied with it. I think Doug and Lynne have been happy with theirs also. They just have to retire now and enjoy it more.
I do want to upgrade the Map database...
Michelins
That sounds like a good deal Bill.......
We recently bought 4 16" LTX M/S thru Sams Club for about $ 180 each for our 2006 GMC 2500. The only annoying thing about them is the tread is so deep that they pick up and throw a lot of small rocks.
We'll gladly put up with that in...
In Texas
We're heading that way Chuck, pulled in to Bowie TX for tonight. I may try to phone an old friend in Ft. Worth on the way. We're not sure whether we'll drop down to I-10 in Louisiana or around Mobile AL.
See you two in FL..........
Invitation
Hi Doug and Lynne.....
You're welcome to join the other snowbirds ! Good to hear from you two. Diesel has been running around $ 2.97 here.
We should be on the road to Florida tomorrow morning, taking US-287 towards Ft. Worth/Dallas......
Tom & Sharol
Posting
Hi Jim.......many thanks for your post. Also for Marv, yes we did send them the URL of the posting. We're really enjoying our stays here in Texas.
Tom & Sharol
On our way to Arizona for the winter, Sharol and I were going to stay overnight at The Corral RV Park in Dalhart Texas. We both fell ill with a virus of some kind and wound up staying a total of 6 days. It was probably the best 6 days of Texas hospitality.
Owners Michael & Shannon Layman were...
Ham Radio Antenna Mounting
I saw a multi-band vertical mounted on the top of the pin box of a fifth wheel trailer while in Florida two years ago. I'm not sure what ham radio bands the antenna covered but it looked like the base mount was a standard heavy duty mobile spring mount. If I were to...
Hello.........
Hi to Jim and Wilma also from Tom & Sharol. We had camped at the same park last year near Custer SD, and also had met them at the 2007 Elkhart Rally.
Hi also to Joseph and Gene.
Welcome....
Joseph........In case no other "Yoopers" welcomed you to the U.P., Sharol and I want to welcome you and hope you enjoy our neck of the woods.
It was nice to meet you and chat, we arrived at our Wolverine home about 8 PM after a nice dinner at Mackinaw City. Hope to see you again...
Bighorn spotted, I-75 Southbound near exit 301.
We pulled onto I-75 southbound about 9 A.M. today (Friday July 3) just ahead of a Bighorn pulled by a white or cream color Ford.
Was it someone from the forum ? We were on our way to golf with friends so couldn't take the time to see who it was...
Silicon spray
You might try putting some Silicon on the seals, I know it helps our seals flip as they should. I spray the silicon on a cloth and wipe it on both sides of the seals.
I also use our awning rod as nscaler2 does to work the cloth under the top seals as we have the slide out awnings...
Prodigy
We have the Prodigy controller and are very satisfied with it. It is not difficult to set up and works fine. One panic stop proved it to us.
I don't know about other controllers, but as long as any of them work properly which is to stop in a reasonable distance, and are trouble free...
Towing speed
Alicia...........we have a 2006 Bighorn 3055RL and 2006 GMC 2500 ext cab with the Dura Max and Allison. We have over 7,000 towing miles on the units and have had no problems towing. The main thing is we are at or slightly exceeding weight limits by the time we load everything...
Yooperland
Joseph......We live near Wolverine MI which is about 43 miles south of St. Ignace (I-75 Exit 301) and it was in the low 60's Friday. I had been up Thursday/Friday to Paradise MI stream trout fishing and got soaked and frozen in the rain and cold (42 degrees) up there. This country...
Junction Box under large slide out
Thanks Jim........I looked under our large slide out and found a junction box mounted just behind the left rear wheel. I didn't open it as I remember sealing it good shortly after we got the 3055RL and it probably won't help Doug as his unit evidently is...
Lights
Doug..........On our 3055 the two wall mounted lights on on both sides of the rear window are on circuit/fuse # 10 and are the only things on that circuit as far as I could tell. My "Living Room" ceiling lights near the fan are on circuit/fuse # 13. ALL the lights on the large slide are...
Rear Living Room Lights
Doug....
I didn't think of checking to see if those two lights are on the same circuit or not . I have an RV Refrigeration Tech coming in the morning to do do the recall fix. Our refrigerator is on the recall also. I'll check those two lights then and let you know.
We...
Lighting circuit - Living room slide - 3055RL
Doug..........I took a look at our 3055RL large slide lighting circuit and it is the bottom fuse circuit number 15. On ours there are 18 circuits but only 15 are used. As I said in my previous post, I had to repair a number of poor connections on...
Lighting problem
Doug..........Do you have either a voltmeter or 12 volt test light with you ? I'll look at our 3055 and let you know what circuit on the DC fuse panel feeds the large slide.
I do recall having to repair some poor connections on our 3055 shortly after we bought it, but can't...
Sundance spotted Exit 301 I-75 @ Wolverine MI
We spotted a Sundance at a restaurant near exit 301 of I-75 @ Wolverine Michigan. It was about 10 AM Monday May 12, 2008.
Anyone from the forum ? We would have stopped and say hello but Sharol had an appointment and we were running late. Good to...
Majestic Oaks
We're familiar with Majestic Oaks as we wintered in Zephyrhills for about 9 years. The RV park is very nicely laid out, not many trees if you're looking for shade. That can be nice however as the Oak trees shed a lot of leaves during the winter months and seem to get into every...
We are very familiar with Palm View Gardens and have been there quite a few times for dances. The terrain in the park is flat so biking would be easier than Baker Acres RV Resort which is mostly hilly, but is across a field from the Wal-Mart and some other stores. Baker Acres has paved roads...
Zephyrhills FL
We wintered in Zephyrhills for about 8 years and liked the area very much. Many senior parks in the area and quite a few RV parks also. One mixed park is Baker Acres RV Resort, rates are usually decent, don't let the title "RV Resort" scare you. Zephyrhills is pretty much...
Canyon Village
Doug & Lynne.....
Sharol and I had planned to stay in Canyon Village at Trailer Village Campground. We weren't able to make the trip last fall unfortunately, but may do it later this year. Here is the URL:
http://www.grandcanyonlodges.com/Trailer-Village-705.html
It looked...
Northbound
Chuck, just wanted to wish you and Saundra safe travel on your way back home. We're not sure where we'll be headed south next winter yet. We'd like to try Arizona, but may wind up back in Zephyrhills.
It was 60 degrees here today, snow is melting good.
Cheers........
We looked at quite a few GPS a year ago and narrowed it down to the Garmin nuvi 750 GPS. The main feature I wanted was to have the capability to add multiple waypoints easily, and be able to plan a route using their Mapsource software on our laptop. That way I can plan a route on the laptop and...
Campgrounds
Hi Doug & Lynne.......
We didn't get to go south this past winter, and now with the high prices of diesel, we're not sure we'll be going anywhere this summer.
I checked my nuvi 750 for campgrounds around Calgary and at first didn't find any under "Lodging" POI's. :( Then I...
GPS & POI's
Hi Doug & Lynne:
What make and model GPS are you looking at ? I did quite a bit of research a year ago and bought the Garmin Nuvi 750. We are well satisfied with the POI library it has, and the ease of finding a campground nearby while enroute. So far we haven't needed more POI's...
Waste Basket
We bought one of those slide out waste baskets either from Home Depot or Lowes, and I mounted it to the cabinet floor behind the right hand door under the sink. Mount it forward towards the door as far as you can so it's easy to remove the basket. It works great for us.
Web Site......
The following web site has a good article about getting rid of the formaldehyde odor. I did it twice over about a week and got rid of the problem.

This was posted before on the forum and I...
Modified forum settings for 'Read Posts'
I have to agree with geeksrus that the old method was better. When you logged off ALL the posts were marked as read. IF you logged back on after that and wanted to see NEW posts for the past 24 hours, all you had to do was click that option. I think the...
Clicking on Jim's Truck picture
I tried clicking on the picture and find that there isn't any "file type" suffix to the file name, it only has "Video". It probably should have something like .wmv (Windows Media video) or another video format file type suffix added to the file. I did a file...
