Hinges popping out of their holes (21fbs)

I had one door do this in my NT. Used a spot of gorilla glue to hold the inserts in and let dry over night. Worked like a charm. I am doing it to the rest of the cabinet doors proactively as I get time. Cj

If you had a second chance at a do over (manual vs electric awning)?

Re: If you had a second chance at a do over? I have had both and although the manual one is nice in that you can adjust it, I love the ease of the electric awning and wouldn't trade it for anything.

    Speaker Pair Question

Mine are hooked up A=Right, B=Left, C=Outside. When I had the trailer in for warranty work I asked that they fix them, stating that they should be front/back and not left/right. They said that my trailer was wired per factory settings, explaining that they were A=Kitchen, B=Dining/sofa...

    Struts to hold up bed

Keyra, I will try to answer both your questions. First the struts, they are not included on the NT units, I have seen them on other brands. They would not be difficult to install, I think there is a post under North Trail Modifications section of the forum that someone did this. Search there...

    Lakeshore RV - MI

I bought my NT from Lakeshore RV, but am also local to the area. I went through Jeff Rake who was very good to deal with, honest and no pressure sales. My only issue has been with the service dept. They are very difficult to get on the phone and even when they had my TT, they failed to do...

Great photos! We love our NT, looks like you are getting good use out of yours. Camping in the snow, crazy! Too cold in MI to do that.cj

Is it just me or do most new owners have a "delivery check list"?

Moose, I can't agree with you more. I am a fix it yourself kind of Guy, but I expect new to be NEW and to be what I paid for. It is confusing to say the least that I am expected to be the end of the line quality inspection.

    Outside Kitchen door

I am having the same problem with mine, I know exactly what you are talking about. I was going to call Customer Service to see what they would do about it. I am concerned not as much from a water leak issue but more from a long term life of the door. They put a big notch in the frame for the...

Why do I click Caliber and get North Trail and what's the deal?

On the HeartlandRV website, look at the floor plans for the North Trails, they will indicate which models are available in Caliber Edition, King Slides only I believe. We have the 29BUDS in Caliber Edition, definitely worth the upgrade price. Not for full body paint though.

    Touch Audio suggestions?

My touch system is for crap! Trailer is not even 2 months old and the touch function no longer works, hope I don't lose the remote. From the internet searches I did, it seems like there is only one other system out there, which is an older model (Jensen brand). Very interested to see if there...

    Awning hanging up

I had this issue with my North Trail during my PDI. The service tech said the awning needed an adjustment to the alignment. The roll would unwind the awning, but the arms would stay tight to the trailer sides. You had to pull on the arms to get it to "break free". Sounds like a similar...

ATF: North Trail - Trailer clearence issue

If you look at the specs on the Heartland web site, you will notice that the king slide units are taller, the difference is in the frame height. The 30QOK is a kitchen slide and sits lower. The 32BHDS is a king slide and sits higher, that is the reason one of these trailers drags and the...

    Elk ridge e26 disappointment

You are not alone in your frustration. There is a definite lack of quality control on the assembly line and the burden is being placed on the dealers and owners to find and fix the problems. Not the way I would run a company. Participating in this forum I am reading a lot of the same issues...

ATF: North Trail - Do not know what this switch does

Clearly these switches and their location in the trailers are not standard. Hope you were able to figure out what your switch actually operates:rolleyes:

ATF: North Trail - Do not know what this switch does

If your model trailer has an outside kitchen, it is probably the switch for the microwave. They cannot both run at the same time, so the switch turns one off and the other on. At least that is the way it is on my 29BUDS. Chris

    New 29BUDS

The overall fit and finish of the North Trail made it stand out. The 29BUDS was the perfect layout for our family and we love all the additional storage space in the bunkhouse. For myself, I have been making good use of the outside fridge, keeps my beer at the perfect drinking temp... If you...

    ATF: Big Country - Q/A

My outside shower was not hooked up, thankfully I pulled the hose all the way out prior to turning on the faucet and flooding the interior of my unit? This is simple stuff that standard work on a manufacturing line does to ensure the product is correct. You do not gain quality by inspecting it...

    ATF: Big Country - Q/A

Bryan, I just can't resist commenting on the concerns of Heartlands QA. I just purchased a 2011 NT TT and the small obvious issues that I have been finding really make me shake my head. Individually the items are small and easily fixed, but when combined it is hard to believe the a trailer...

    Wood or not?

Generally it seems that the trailers that have fiberglass sides are aluminum frame construction and the ones with aluminum siding are wood frame construction. Not an expert, but certainly what I have observed. Based on that, I would say the edge is aluminum frame construction.

ATF: North Trail - Switch for exterior light?

The switch for my outside light is on the upper cabinet, adjacent the the entry door. It is right next to the switch for the lights in the living area. Mine is labeled "Porch". Keep flipping switches and you will find it.

Gas spring shock for under bed storage.

North Trail & Caliber TT owners: What persuaded you to purchase?

Layout was the most important factor for my wife and I. We wanted a area for the kids in the back and an area for us upfront. That said, there are a few different brands with a similar layout to our NT 29BUDS. The price and quality is what kept me coming back to the NT brand. I just picked...

    Caliber/Caliber Edition opinions needed !

I just recently purchased a NT Caliber Edition. If you were looking between the std NT and the Caliber Edition, the cost of upgrade is definitely worth it for the extras you would get, but the Caliber trailers have many of those features as well. The blinds in the NT are wood, but painted...

    Bighorn PDI Checklist

I just went through a PDI at Lakeshore RV on Friday. I worked with Michael and he was very patient and helpful. All issues that we found were documented on his inspection sheet and will be fixed before I pick up the unit. I have the luxury of living only 20 minutes away and not in Oregon...

    New 29BUDS

The new trailer was delivered last week, went and checked it out with the family. Kids can't wait to go camping and try out the bunks. We opted for the Caliber edition and man does it look sharp! Maybe in a month the snow will melt away and we can actually use it. cj

    Outside Kitchen question

No burners, just the swing arm table. I have friends with trailers that do have these burners and they never use them. I have one at home on my outside grill that has never been used. I would guess that any cooking that you will do outside with your trailer will be on a gas grill not a stove...

Think we are going with the North Trail 30 QOK

That is a brand new model, so I doubt that anyone has one or has much experience with it. I too have been looking at TT's for over a year now, pretty much looked at every bunkhouse model out there. We just ordered our trailer, a 29BUDS Caliber Edition. Got word that it will arrive in a few...
