Our rig is permanently set up in an RV resort located near Palm Springs. It is left unattended for 6-7 months each year. In fact we didn't get there at all this winter due to Covid. When we are not there the shore power is disconnected as is the 12v battery. But I'm wondering: do we need a 12v...
We are having serious problems with the burners on our Atwood range. One has already been replaced twice due to flame at the air combustion port that melted a plastic fitting. This would have caused a fire but thankfully was noticed right away. The burner flames burn yellow rather than blue...
Our led light strip is mounted in a plastic track under the awning. The lights themselves still work however the track has warped, I believe from sun heat on the awning above it. We're not talking slight warping here. The entire 16 ft. is completely twisted and gnarled. Heartland has approved...
Our final decision was to have the tub and shower enclosure replaced. Although the replacement tub was slightly deeper than the old one, the repair tech was able to trim it down to fit. turned out good as new.
It would seem from the feedback that specification heights include roof mounted accessories. However, I will take the advice to measure for myself. Thanks to all. Happy RVing.
Does anyone know if the RV 'height' as shown in the specifications sheet / brochure includes the roof air unit? In my case the height of our 5th Wheel is shown as 13' 2". OK I know I could climb up on the roof and try to judge the height by eyeball with the help of someone holding a tape...
Thanks to all for the feedback / advice. While checking further into the issue of replacement vs repair, I have learned the tub (where the small hole is) is a separate installation below the shower enclosure and only that has to be replaced. This can be done without disturbing the upper shower...
During shake down cruise of new unit we discovered a small pea size hole in the fibreglass shower enclosure close to the floor. It was hard to see because the hole was not punched right out. A postage size piece of Gorilla tape has temporarily solved the problem. Heartland has agreed to replace...
Not familiar with the term 'pex lines' however they do go through the frame near the axels. There's a right angle fitting where they disappear through a hole in the frame. None of our previous RV's (and we've had plenty) had these drains. You knew the water tank was full when water started...
On our 2014 3300ML is brand new. Never been used even though a 2014 model. We are about to take it on a short shake down cruise this coming week. There are two clear short 1/2 " plastic tubes hanging down underneath the coach. They are about 8 - 10' long and there is one on each side about...
You are correct Bones. The rubber flap is on the interior at floor level and goes in and out with the slide. It's when slide is being retracted that the roller rides up on the flap and 'eats' it.
As mentioned by 'Bones', I also had cut away the damaged portion of rubber flap in front of the roller leaving the remaining portions in place on both sides of the roller. Will now look underneath with slide extended to check on the sheet metal guard 'sengli' described. Whichever way this...
We have a 2014 Gateway 3300ML. This is the rear kitchen model. There is a rubber flap along the floor below the fridge. Behind the rubber flap is located one of the slide out rollers. It seems when retracting the slide the roller runs up onto the rubber flap and consequently the flap is now...
Thanks to all for the feedback. I guess regardless of whether it's a known name or not, most are manufactured off shore. And as someone mentioned, any given manufacturer may use a multitude of branding names. Time will tell. Have a great summer!
Our new Gateway fifth wheel trailer has a Legend brand flat screen TV in it. I've never heard of this brand name before and am suspicious it is a cheap lower quality TV that Heartland puts in their units to save a few bucks. Hope I'm wrong. We haven't even turned it on yet but am wondering...
Just purchased a (new) 2014 Gateway 3300ML. I was surprised to discover this unit is not equipped with a battery disconnect. Of course I had one installed by the dealer before we picked it up. This is such a basic and necessary item I would have thought it would be standard equipment on what...
Where are the hot water bypass valves located on my 2014 Gateway 3000ML? Previously on our 2011 Big Country they were in the docking station but not on the Gateway.
Thanks for feedback. As you said, sounds like we'll just have to live with it. It isn't the elevated slide floor that bothers us so much as how the carpet will fare after repeated folding each time the slide moves in and out.
The edge of the carpet on the large slide in our 2014 3300ML rides up against the island when the slide is retracted. This is causing a permanent fold about 4 inches wide along the leading edge of the carpet that is reluctant to flatten out when the slide is extended. Does anyone else have this...
About to purchase a new Gateway fifth wheel but are concerned about the mattress. I seems to have some 'memory foam' components. Our experience with memory foam is they feel hot. Interested in users experiences.
I have just put our 2011 Big Country 3250 TS to bed for the winter. Winterizing has been completed and because we live in a northern climate I also removed the two 6 v batteries and have them in my warm garage. Our unit has a 130 watt solar panel on the roof that now has no batteries to keep...
It seems there are any number of high quality tires that will do the job. However, the Michelin name seems to predominate both from forum feedback and my own research and as it turns out they are a little cheaper than some others. I also want an AT tread as we live in snow country. The new...
Thanks Delaine. The info on Toyo tires is interesting because a dealer here is trying to steer me in that direction...but the cost is higher than Michelins - $1312 for set of 4 mounted and balanced, compared to $1060 for the Michelins at Costco. Either way new tires are expensive but I mainly...
Thanks - your input is appreciated. In fact I've got Michilin LT's on now and have been perfectly happy with them. Unfortunately I wore the rear tires down prematurely from under inflation so now the need to replace...sigh !
I need to replace the tires on my 2004 Silverado Duramax truck. We tow a 2011 Big Country 5th wheel trailer. I'm looking for advice on the best tire to buy.

Re: ATF: Big Country - Stereo system turns on by itself.
Thanks for all the feed back. I feel STUPID! The alarm was set. I've turned it off. End of problem.
Re: ATF: Big Country - Stereo system turns on by itself.
I'll feel foolish if that's all it is. I certainly didn't set the alarm intentionally....but an easy fix if that's the problem. Grandson was messing around with the stereo....ummm. Thanks for your input.
The first time I found the stereo FM turned on, I thought I'd forgotten to turn it off even though I was sure I had. The second time it happened I was picking up the trailer from where it is in storage. A loud static noise was coming out of the speakers. It was turned on (quite loud) and not...
We have a 2011 Big Country 3250TS and just completed our second outing of the summer in it. We are experiencing a strong sewer smell when flushing the toilet. This seems to occur more noticeably when the vent over toilet is open with fan running which is of course the desireable time to use the...
I have a 2011 Big Country 3250TS. The sofa did not have any matching cushions such as some other manufacturers supply. My dealer advises Heartland products don't come with cushions. I am curious however, knowing that sales people often rob bits and pieces from units to complete a sale. This...

I found the rocker switch in the access panel. It was pinned in the off position. I feel kind of silly for not seeing this before, but would have thought the dealer would have explained when I brought the alledged issue to their attention....sigh!
Thank you. One other unrelated question....do the sofas supplied with this unit come with matching cushions? We didn't get any with ours and having trouble finding some to match.
Chuck
Thanks Dave.....I have since looked at previous threads of similar topic and will take a look at our heater for the rocker switch. On the otherhand, I would have thought our dealer would be astute enough to advise if this was the problem.

We have a 2011 Big Country 3250TS. There is a switch in the control panel for switching on the electric option that illuminates red when on however I've had no success in heating water on electric or keeping it hot after heating up with gas. (Yes, we are plugged into a 30amp service). I returned...
I've been pulling a 2005 Cardinal 5'r with a single pivot hitch. I've never had any serious problems but once in a while I've noticed where the king pin assembly on the trailer has grazed the hitch brackets where the pivot is cradled to the point that the pivot cradel was bent. I had it...
I have a new Big Country with two 6v batteries. They were fully charged when the unit went into storage about a month ago. It will be in storage for another 5 months or so before we use it. We are in a cold climate area with temeratures well below the freezing mark for long periods and there...
Thanks for feedback Bob. From your comment it sounds like the additional transmission speeds made a difference...not sure what you mean by paddle shift though.
