Patio Lights - Bulb Type

I have a 2011 300C and I am trying to determine the lightbulb type that is used on the top rear of the camper. They are some type of square plug-in light, not the traditional push-in twist 1146 or 1157 type bulbs. First the bulbs were very difficult to remove from the steel housing they they plug in to. Using a volt meter I have confirmed that I have 12 volts at the connections, but I have tried various 12 halogen and incandescent bulbs, and nothing works. Left scratching my head?? Any one know the type of bulb used, and/or as anyone replaced these with an LED solution?

Most clearance lights are a 194 bulb. If its an interior bulb a picture would help.
