South Carolina Chapter Leaders-Retired
Well we had a great trip to the Heartland SC Chapter Rally, but when we were getting seettled in we noticed that our undermount sink had broken free from the counter top. No wonder though, there were only 2 clips installed along the backside of the sink. A failure waiing to happen, just a matter of time. This was an easy fix, but if the factory had added a few more clips this never would have been necessary.
To repair, I went to the local hardware store and picked up a tube of silicone and some L brackets. Then I dropped the sink and removed the old adhesive and put a new bead down. I used a bottle jack to raise it back in place. Next I bent the L brackets slighty and screwed 2 in the front and one to each corner to provide support. Looks great and I should never have to fix it again.
