    Disk Brake Upgrade

I have a 2011 Cyclone 3010 with the standard electric drum brakes. I am thinking about upgrading them to hydraulic disk brakes, probably use the Kodiak product. Also requires installing an electric hydraulic actuator. Has anyone done this ??? Any comments, pros or cons ??? Also looking for axle...

Can weight put on pin provide trailer axle cargo weight leeway?

I'm a new Cyclone owner, full-timing and about to make my first big move and now realizing that, after add-ons such as additional air conditioner, bigger refrigerator, dual panes, etc., the rig weighs 1400 lbs more than the base model. This means that I am that much closer to my GVWR and now am...

Tires Tilting in at the Top?

Last fall, my wife commented, after following me home from camping, that the left rear tire on our 2011 BH seemed to wobble a little and be tilted inward at the top. Yesterday was such a nice day that I jacked the BH up, took the tire and wheel off expecting to find a either a bent rim or a...

    Axles--6000 to 7000 pounds each

I have a 2010 Heartland Big Country, 36ft, (3355 model) that has two axles with a max rating of 6000 pounds each (14k max capacity for rig....of which almost 2k is on the truck bed). Question? Has anyone ever upgraded their axles to 7000 pounds each from 6000 pounds? I've talked with...

    Axle weight rating reduce

Anybody else got the new label in accordance to the National Traffic and Motor Safety Act for their Cyclone? It reduces the weight rating on each axle by 80lbs thus reducing the weight in your garage by 360lbs.... the weight of a 250cc ATV.... We are at 15,500 lbs loaded no liquid on our axles...

    Center Point Suspension 8K Axles

The Lippert rep did a great job of installing the Center Point and 8K axles on our Augusta. We are running about 10 psig higher on the off curb side to make the trailer run level on level ground. Rides great and stops better. With the brake controller on 10 you can lock up the trailer wheels. We...

    Center Point Suspension 8K Axles

Lippert completed this upgrade on our Augusta. Excellent work and we are extremely happy with the ride and braking with the larger brakes. We also have air bags on the TV and a Fifth AirBorne pin. Best overall towing experience of all the larger trailers we own and have owned. Certainly money...

    cyclone 3950 axles

I bought a brand new cyclone toy hauler 3950 in July and this week coming home through NYC, my leaf spring on the third axle fell off leaving the axle to float around. There was no place to get off for quite some time and of course there is some pretty good damage to several items inder the...

    6000lb axles ?

I was crawling around underneath my 3400Rl today and a question crossed my mind. Why do I have 2ea 6000lb axles under my 3400 if my max weight is 14K ? Is it because it is always on the truck or on the front legs, thus we would subtract the pin weight. Any thoughts ? steve

    7k Axles and springs..

We now have 7k axles and springs on the Bighorn 3400RE. On June 1st we will have Mor/Ryde install IS and DB on our Bighorn in Goshen IN. The axles and springs will be salvaged by Mor/Ryde unless someone is intrested in changing out the 6k axles to 7k at Mor/Ryde. If your intrested in the...

I have a Big Horn, 3400, 2009. My question is, are the axles on this the never lube kind, or do I have to have the bearings packed. Thanks Richard of Idaho

    Axles for 2006 Bighorn 3400RL

I would like to know what axles were originally used in this rig and can they be changed to a heavier rated axle? I have one that seems to have absolutely no arc in it and I have broken a spring, shackle hanger and shock on that axle.

Tight turns - stress on axles, wheels, tires?

Was backing into a site and was pushing at a pretty high angle and happened to look at the wheels - the front wheels were skewed way to the inside of the turn, and the back wheels were skewed in the opposite direction. Then I noticed they do the same thing when I'm pulling in a very tight (like...

    lube axles on Cyclone?

Do we need to lube the axles on our Cyclone? When and how? I thought there might be info on this in the HOOT but there isn't that I can find. We've had ours for a year now and know there's some annual things that need to be done but not sure what. Any help is appreciated.

gross weight rating and axles strength

How do you get a gross trailer weight rating of 21,000lbs when you have three 6,000lb axles underneath the camper? Something doesn't add up in my head. I have been trying to figure out if it had anything to do with the expected amount of pin weight that may be taken off the axles by the truck...

    Check your springs...

Well I got a surprise on Friday, Oct. 3. Just as we were coming into Shreveport LA, I noticed some smoke coming out of the right side of the trailer. My first thought was “A tire has gone bad.” I have Pressure Pro sensors on the trailer and truck but got no alarm. Fortunately I had pulled over...
