1985 Mallard TT needing the plastic window clip strip that holds the large windows...

Good morning and hello all,

We have an older 1985 Mallard TT 26 footer that has the large plate glass windows where the upper section does not slide. These windows are located in the dining area of the TT.

These windows have a 1/2"-wide plastic strip that surrounds and holds the glass against the aluminum frame. It clips in and completely surrounds the glass. The glass is also attached with a type of glue as well.

Does anyone know where that plastic strip can be found? I'm in Maine near Bangor and have already spoken with Webb's RV, the largest RV dealer in Maine and they have not been able to help me.

Heartland bought the Mallard brand name a few years ago, so a 1985 trailer pre-dates Heartland's Mallards by close to 30 years. But who knows, maybe there's someone here who has the answer.

Hello danemayer! Long time no contact. I've been working a lot this past year. Thank you for the post. I knew Heartland bought Mallard as I see newer Mallards sporting the Heartland name. I was hoping Heartland would keep some sort of technical files for these older models.

As you probably may have already seen from another one of my posts, I am greatly disappointed with the newer Heartland as we spent a helluva lot of money on it. That one is the 2015 Big Country 3900 FLP. I have lots of "issue" with that one.

You might try looking around to find a local glass professional that advertises that they work on RV's, then get in contact with them about your problem. The glass guys may have specialized glass hardware sources outside the regular RV parts sources.

I am looking through most of the Mallard Posts, and looking for members of this site who have Mallard Travel Trailers from the 80's, you have not posted on this issue since 2017 of October, any way I am doing what I can to restore my 1987 Mallard Travel Trailer, here are some of my pictures in progress of the restoration...Scott.

F150MallardKid, looking at your pics of your new roof vent it seems that you need to apply some self leveling caulk to seal the screw heads and perimeter.
