Please give us a little more information about your problem and what you have checked. Has suspension or brakes been upgraded or prior work done on them? I'm sure someone will have answers for you.

Depending on how often you actually connect and disconnect the umbilical, the contacts in it or the receptacle may have oxidized some. I had that happen on mine since I don't connect it often. Get some contact cleaner and spray both, then work the connection. That may be all you need before getting into some serious repair mode. I do that now as a pre-tow PM.

I once did. Lots of things could contribute to poor/no brakes on a trailer. If you have an interest to troubleshoot yourself, we can support you when you ask specific questions, or post information on what you are observing when following a structured troubleshooting methodology like this one from Dexter (click here), a supplier of electric brake components and axles.
