Hi RDJohns,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum and to the family. We have a great bunch of folks here with lots of information and all willing to share their knowledge when needed.

Please give us a little more information about your problem and what you have checked. Has suspension or brakes been upgraded or prior work done on them? I'm sure someone will have answers for you.

Depending on how often you actually connect and disconnect the umbilical, the contacts in it or the receptacle may have oxidized some. I had that happen on mine since I don't connect it often. Get some contact cleaner and spray both, then work the connection. That may be all you need before getting into some serious repair mode. I do that now as a pre-tow PM.

I have never had a connection issue with the 5th wheel but I have with my car hauler. I had to replace the entire cord. John may be on to something.
