If you want to see something that most people never see in their lifetime, there will be a total solar eclipse passing across the US on Aug 21, 2017. Remember that the path of totality is very narrow, so you have to be in the right place. The path of extends from Oregon to South Carolina, going over Salem, Idaho Falls, Grand Tetons, Casper, Lincoln, Kansas City, St Loius, Nashville, southern part of Smokie Mountain NP, then down to Charleson. Remember to get "eclipse" glasses to safely view the eclipse.
