We are fairly new to rving. We purchased this Rbss and took it out once. Got home and cleaned it good. There is a awful smell that we can’t pinpoint. We have cleaned out the black and grey tanks 3 times. Covered vent pipes, checked roof. Closed it up and when we go back in it’s bad. I have been on my hands and knees smelling every corner inside and out and can’t find it! How do we pinpoint it? Driving us crazy. Thought a mouse died someplace but after 5 weeks wouldn’t that be gone? Thanks

I suggest that you turn off the propane tanks, air out your camper and see if the odor went away.
You might have a very slow leak from one of the LP appliances.
If the odor goes away you will need to find the leak.

Thanks for replying. We have had everything turned off and unplugged for several weeks. If we leave the door open the smell does get better.

Well we are 3 months in and have winterized the camper and still have a smell. We are beyond stumped. We have cleaned, backwashed, cleaned and cleaned again the black tank and all the drains. We have covered vents and left windows open. We are going to tear off the lining underneath and see if there is a leak. ANY and ALL suggestions as to what we are missing would be appreciated. Also thought maybe a dead mouse but we can’t find any sign if that. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

if your underlining looks droopy then you may have tank water lying on top. That means you'll need to check the tanks for leaks or where the drain pipes enter the tanks. Drill a 1/4" hole in the coroplast (lining) at the lowest point to facilitate drainage.

Before taking down the coroplast underbelly lining, try drilling a few 1/4" holes in a few spots. Put a piece of tape on the drill bit so you only drill about 1/4" - that should penetrate the coroplast without hitting anything else. If there's a plumbing leak, it'll drain, letting you know approximately where the problem is.

We will search this further. We only used the RV once so hoping a leak is not the issue. Thank you for your reply!

a new trailer shouldn't have any sewer smells, not impossible tho. Maybe the dealer can help. should be warranted.

Yes be careful drilling some plumbing lines and electrical line that may run though there if you didn’t have a problem underneath you will when you hit one just saying

Have you found out what is the cause of the smell yet?

What toilet does it have. If it is Dometic 300 it will be the problem. There are utube videos on how to fix the leak.
