It would solve a few questions if you turn off the breakers... then check to ensure the power is actually off... then unscrew the 50 Amp outlet to actually see how it's wired.

Sure would be worth while to take the time doing this...and then you'll be able to see exactly how they connected both legs of this 50Amp outlet to the single feed from the breaker box.

Just a thought...

Here is one for all you electrical wizzards.........
The 5500LP Onan Generator in my 3600RL will power both A/C's, microwave, and various other items at the same time. It is rated @ 5500 watts, using Ohms Law, is it correct to say the generator's output is 45.83 amps @ 120V? If this is correct, how many 120V 50 amp circuits would be required from shore power to operate both A/C's, microwave, and various other items at the same time?
