300C fishtails with only 1,000 lb golf cart in garage - Help!

I don't get it. 300C fishtails with only 1,000 electric golf cart in the garage. Trailer is level and tires set to max. The garage says max cargo is 2,500 lbs and I only have a one car in the garage. Disappointed.

Any advice?

Hi Hengie2000. No advice, but a few questions.
What are you using for a tow vehicle?
Are you using air bags or any other suspension enhancements?

Peace

How much do you have loaded ahead of the wheels?? Try adding weight to the pin to see if that helps.

Have you weighed dry? It's possible you are overloaded without knowing. Our cyclone only has a total cargo capacity of 1500 lbs - so if we had 1000 in the garage we only have 500 left for food, clothes, water and gas tanks. Just a thought? If you check in your front door there is (or should be) a yellow sticker that has the actual dry weight. And your actual total cargo limit.

Trouble Maker
I have the same trailer and same issues. Use to tow it with a 2500 Mega Cab SRW now I tow it with a DRW Ford 12'. Tows the same with both trucks. I also have 17.5 and I thought the stiffer side walls would help but it did not.

I weighed mine with approx 1500 to 1700 lbs in the garage, 30 gals of gas, propane fuel, and 100 gals in the tank. Axles weighed around 13,500 lbs and the pin was around 2klb or slightly higher.

Weight is not the issue. Well it is but it shouldn't be. Empty garage and she tows much better. More weight on the pin and less behind the axles is a good combo.

The only fix that will help that I am aware of is welding in three cross members to your leaf spring hangers. I will be using 1.75" .095" wall DOM since I have it laying around. This will stiffen up the side flex in the suspension reducing the fish tailing.

My tires carry a 75mph tow rating and I do tow at times that fast. But conditions Have to be right. Cross winds, curves, high crown, hills and such is a no go. 65 in those conditions and it will still fish tail.

Ultimately this trailer should have been a triple axle. There is smaller triple axle trailers out there. It is inches under 40ft and you can easily gross the 16k with it.
