a/c controls

main room a/c working but fan won't shut off unless you turn a/c off. is set on auto. as soon *** you turn on a/c after a few sec only the blower comes on. have set point higher than amb temp so it shouldn't come on till temp hits set point. when a/c hits set point comp comes on and cycles fine blower just won't shut off unless manually shut off system. any help would be great. thanks

What is your heat set to?

Heat is off tstat is on a/c fan is on auto. This the way we have always had. It set for the past 2years last year it did this 2 different times. Turned on and off a couple times and it started working properly tried that this time but still won’t rest.

Replace the thermostat.

If you are in Auto, your Heat is not off. In auto, the thermostat will turn on either heat or cool to get whatever range you set on your heat or cool settings. Go to Heat, turn the temp down below your anticipated lowest temperature, then go to Cool and set the hottest you want it to get. Go to Fan and set Auto, then switch to Auto. Make sure the fan indicates Auto.

have control set to cool and fan set to auto so heat should be off. found reset procedure and did that. seems to have fixed it. time will tell
