? About 17.5" rim and tire pressure ...

Hi

I'm considering getting 17.5" wheel with some brand yet to be determined, of truck tires. As with my old trailer and now my 5th wheel I've learned the hard way to always run max pressure in the tires.

If I go to 125 psi truck tires on 7k axles, are you guys running max psi in them or actual load pressure based on the axle loading weights or the psi that apply to 7k lbs or....? Right now the way I'm loaded I'm carrying about 5k lbs on each which it looks like that air pressure should be around 80 psi anyways (give or take).

For me I'd rather give up a little wear on the tires in lew of over heating the tire with a tire pressure a bit high.

Thought?

Thanks
Doug

I would have to agree with Bob, you are fine with a good 10 ply trailer tire. I do run 110 psig in my 17.5's on the Augusta but only because my visable sensors are fixed/set for that psig. On our heavier trailers they always get the side wall inflation pressure.
