How much height do vent covers add to a rig. Heartland says a BigHorn is 13'3", so that mean when vent covers are installed it would be closer to 14' yikes 😱
Thanks

Measure your rig when you get it! The highest point is probably the AC shroud. We found at a recent rally our rig was 13'8"!!! BC 4010RD

We just measured ours to make sure we could still cross a 13'6" bridge, the only entrance into a favorite park. We measured two ways, top down and bottom up. Both measured exactly 13'3'' from level ground to the top of the ac unit. We'll measure again when we hook up this weekend, just in caseHow much height do vent covers add to a rig. It's a starting point and confirms that our unit and the Heartland spec is the same. That's why I made sure to point out is was on level ground vs hitched. We have found that many of the printed specs are not true for our coach. We will be measuring again this weekend for a more accurate height when we hook-up for a weekend getaway. No height limits to worry about this trip!If your 13'3" measure was not hitched up, you should disregard it. The only measurement that counts is one that reflects the way you'll be towing.
I know this is an old thread, but it fits my question exactly.
I measured our 2016 Bighorn 3570RS over the weekend. The spec sheet lists the height at 13' 4". However the actual height hitched to the truck is 13' 10".
Wow, that really surprised me! I was a bit nervous about low clearance before, now more so.
Can that height be correct? Is this similar to others? (Maybe I screwed up the measurement).
thanks

New tires can add an inch or two . . . so can new springs and/or new axles.
You can't be that high. most of the state limits are at 13' 6". Are you nose high or something
The unit looks level when hooked to the truck. But I have not checked to see if the FW frame is actually level to the ground.
The 2017 Ford Super Duty trucks have a relatively high pickup bed. And I have the B&W Companion hitch on the highest setting to give decent clearance to the pickup box side rails. I guess the stack-up of these factors is leading to the 13' 10" height.

Our Rand McNally GPS has low bridge warnings and I always set ours to 5-inches higher than what the trailer actually is.
So can his new truck.
