Aft Air Conditioning not Blowing

I recently purchased a 2012 3300CK. I hate to say it but things have not gone well. One of the over 30 Warranty items that I have been trying to get fixed for the past 2 months is a problem with the air conditioning. It blows real well out of all of the vents from the air conditioner forward, however, the 3 aft vents in the living area and the bunk room barely blow air. The amount of air put out would barely make a flame flicker. The dealer service center told me this is normal. I don't believe this (not my first rv) so I though I would get some feedback from other Sundance owners. I think there may be some kind of obstruction but there is probably a major amount of labor involved which the dealer wants to avoid. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Vince

If you think your dealer is giving you the run around. Call HL service and ask if there is someone else you can take it to. Have your VIN# handy.

Hi Vince,
I tried to reply this morning but was hindered by the forum "too busy" issues of recent and lost my response.

My personal thought is that I wouldn't rely entirely on the dealer to be able to fully diagnose this problem. I suggest you read the Heating / Cooling User Guide recently published under Tools => Manuals => User Guides on the Owners Forum. It can provide you with a lot of practical knowledge compiled from all of us on this site. A/C ductwork issues are common with these units and are mostly due to practical construction constraints of our rigs. I also highly suggest to follow the link in the document for TimK's Tent in a Vent. It's a LONG read that goes back about 5 years, but it will give you a lot of things to look for, and some thoughts of how to "optimize" air conditioning in your rig.

I would then take a couple of my favorite beverages, a phillip's screw driver, a flashlight and an inspection mirror and spend an hour or so looking and shining the light from vent to vent to see what you can see. You should be able to easily locate any collapsed or obstructed ductwork fairly easily.

I know the frustration your probably thinking, that the dealer should be able to find and fix this issue - and they may in due time. This is a great way for you to get familiar with the A/C system, expedite the process, and have a means to know when they say they have it fixed.

It's also not a bad way to spend and afternoon getting familiar with your new rig. Good luck and keep us posted. We are all here to help, and love to hear the resolve to peoples issues.
