Hi all, just want to remind everyone that if your refrigerator has an ice maker or water dispenser, and is located in a slide, the water feed line is typically routed under the slide. It is exposed to outside air and if the outside temperate dips below freezing, the water in the tubing is likely to freeze and damage the feed line. You may also have a drain valve under the slide to help drain that feed line. It may also be damaged.
Insulation around the feed line may delay a freeze slightly. But any warmth in the water will quickly dissipate, even with insulation.
This is all the case even if you have the furnace running with thermostat set to 72 (F).
So if you're using the RV through fall and winter and will be exposed to freezing temps, now's a good time to locate the water feed line cutoff valve and to evacuate the water from the feed line.
Our Residential Refrigerator User Guide has instructions and pictures you may find helpful. For older coaches with gas absorption refrigerators, our Winterization Guide has some info that may help.
