Are the plastic strips on the shower door supposed to be left on after purchase?
What is their purpose?

Thank you.

Are you referring to the ones at the top and bottom of the door? If so, yes. They seal the door when showering.

You can get replacements, however I don't think every RV dealer carries them in stock. A couple of years ago, I was needing one, and found it at Ron Hoover RV in Donna, TX. I know it doesn't help those who are in that area, but if you check with an RV dealer, they may have them. I had to ask for it, as I looked all over the store & didn't see them. It may help if you take a sample with you, as they may not know what you are talking about, or take them to a coach on their lot & show them.

I had the lower strip split on my 5er. I got the phone number of the manufacture off the internet and called them about where I could get the parts. They sent them to me at my address where I was at.
