Awning issues

The awning won't move with switch.

I checked fuse
I have power at the switch
i replaced the switch
i can power the awning by hot wiring it from the switch wires
i took switch apart and it appears fine
i checked wires at switch and they are all at proper terminal
the switch has five wires
I reinstalled old switch and tried new switch again
what else could be causing it not to operate, i must be missing something.

thanks

If you short the wires at the switch and the motor runs, 1) you're getting power to the switch, and 2) the awning motor works.

That leaves the switch. Since you replaced it and neither new nor old works, I'd re-check the way the switch is wired. See attached pic.

You might also want to check the wires that are under a plastic shield on the channel that is screwed to the wall.
Also note where the wire enters the coach from that channel and check the wires inside. That could be behind a dresser drawer or in a carpeted raceway near the floor.
