First time out of our covered storage, we were raising the nose, preparing for the fifth wheel connect, wife wanted a bit of a extra height, but I was parked all the way to the back of our space, raised a bit more and "pop!" The end cap on the awning busted and fell. It was pinned against a beam. It appears to be peuter, or cast aluminum, and as we learned later, bears no function beyond protection from the elements, and appearance. I hate to put the rig in the shop for something so small, can these parts be ordered by us common folk?
