Axle upgrades: who's done it and why?

If you have upgraded your axles due to problems, damage, convenience, good price, safety, or otherwise, Please tell me about it. What did you have, and what did you upgrade to?

Up grade from 7K axles to 8K axles after the rally. Had problem with "flat" axles, also damaged axles from wheel coming off from bad bearings. RV weighed, axles were not over weight.

I upgraded to 8k, I felt that running 7k axels on a trailer that had 16200 gvw was too close and only would lead to problems. I have no intention of carring more, just like the idea of having the safety margin.
