Bighorn - Brake type

How can I tell what type of brakes I have. My current brake controler indicates that it is not designed for use with electric-hydraulic trailer brake systems. I am about to replace it and need to know the type of brakes.

Electric hydraulic setting is used with disc brakes.. You probably have regular drum brakes, but you should be able to see which you have. Your regular controller is for drum brakes.

I think they are referring to electric/hydraulic disc brakes. So unless you have installed disc brakes you still have electric drum brakes. You did not say that you have disc brakes now or what year and TV you have.

Why are you replacing your controller? Just because it says it is not designed to work with Electric/Hydraulic brakes does not mean it does not work. Most in fact do work.
The 3 best all around controllers that work with Electric/Hydraulic as well as electric brakes are the Prodigy P2, P3 and Hayes Genesis.
