Bike rack on rear bumper

Is the rear bumper strong enough to attach a 2 bike rack. It is a bolt on type and is for 2 full size bicycles.

We have the same 35DSRL with a 4" square bumper. I attached a bolt on receiver hitch and a "4 bike" rack. We've "tested" it out and everything worked just fine.

can you send me a picture of your hitch? Also where did you get it. We really need a 4 bike rack, but I was afraid of putting the weight on the bumper.

I don't have any pictures of it yet, and the rack itself is removed now as I don't use it all the time. However, the 2 pieces that make up the system are linked below.

We have 2 adult bikes and 2 kids bikes. I am guessing the total weight of all 4 bikes is around 125 pounds, and the bumper is more than strong enough to hold that.

Thanks. I was just wondering if the weight of 4 bikes would tend to twist the bumper. I haven't gotten a response from the factory yet.

The rear bumper on ElkRidge models will be strong enough to support bike racks. We reccomend that customers do not "over due" it with towing from rear bumper as this can overstress the frame.

Our rear bumper is connected directly to the frame. No problem here.
