Black tank flush help.

I would assume that 'back flow out of the toilet into the RV' would only happen if (while black tank valve closed) when the black tank got full---and you kept on filling the black tank flush, right???

Yes unless you had a blockage that would not allow the debris to flow if the valve is open.

It happens if a large "deposit" hasn't decomposed by the time you open the valve. Hence, having clear adapter on the sewer connection and watching the flow. If it suddenly slows or stops seemingly early, there's a good chance there's a "logjam" at the gate. Sometimes having the tank flusher running while dumping helps push it through, but if it's really stubborn, using the back flush attachment at the sewer connection will help break it up.

Whatever you do, don't leave the water running and walk away. This operation is one where multi-tasking is a bad thing.
