Brake type

Ya know, it seems like every time I turn around there's something new to learn Was researching brake controllers and found out they have different types for different actuator methods on the trailer. Couldn't find anything definitive on the factory website or elsewhere on this forum. So, can anyone tell me about the brakes on the 3600RL? Electric? Hydraulic?

Electric Brakes

Heartland uses electric brakes exclusively. We are not going to install hyraulic (which are actually hydraulic over electric) until the produce a system that is proven and will not cause problems down the road. Our engineers experience with hydraulic brakes on fifth wheels at previous companies was not good.
It is our opinion that Electric brakes are proven for the long run. Hydraulics are not.
Maybe someday they will, but that day is not today.
