Carpeting in Living Room

Does anyone know what is under the carpet in the living room area in a 2014 Bighorn 3610? The kitchen flooring goes right up to the edge of the carpet. The carpet is looking pretty matted (not very good quality and no padding). I would like to remove the carpet altogether in the LR if the flooring under it is the flooring in the kitchen. I've talked to other RV owners and they have removed it and put in a pergo type material but I really don't want to go to that much trouble or expense. I know it isn't pratical to remove the carpet on the slides and I'm ok with that. I don't want to start ripping up the carpet without knowing what is under neath it. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Lift out one of the heating registers and then look under the edge of the carpet in the opening.
It's an interesting question, but I've not examined ours.

I expect you'll find thin padding and wood.
