A while back someone mentioned that their dealer tech used a "cheater cord" to activate the icemaker solenoid on the Dometic RM1350. When applying compressed air to the water system, if you activate the solenoid, the compressed air evacuates water from the icemaker feed line, the solenoid, and the line to the ice tray. When done, you close the cutoff valve and do the rest of your winterizing.
One way to activate the solenoid is to turn the gears inside the icemaker slightly to start an ice making cycle. You have to do this a number of times to get all the water out of the system.
I bought a lamp wiring kit from Home Depot, cut the bulb fixture off the end and installed the spade lugs. There's an inline switch on the kit. You connect it to the solenoid (take care how the existing wires are left hanging), plug the cheater in, and turn it on.
CAUTION: DON'T LEAVE THE SOLENOID ON FOR MORE THAN 20 SECONDS. It's not meant for continuous duty and you could damage it. If you need more than 20 seconds, give it a few minutes to cool down before re-energizing.
