Countertop scratches easily

We discovered that our countertops scratch easily. Is there a way to prevent this and to remove what's there already? Or is this normal?

What material are your counter tops?

We have corian countertops and use SCI products that work well. http://stonecare.com/Home ..... We found it Lowes I believe , not sure if they still carry it.
