Damaged landing gearbox, anyone know how to fix it?

It seems that during my first trip out I picked up on some basic principles that I didn't know before leaving. When I say first, I mean FIRST! Just bought it a week ago and FIRST trailer trip ever. Other than my trailer tire blowing out, I parked and realized I was not level right to left. I have learning to do in this repect, looks like I'm going on youtube when I get home. Anyhow, I tried it again and thought I would put my left side landing gear about 3 inches higher than the right when I started to lower the gear. It seems the stress caused the housing that holds the motor in place to snap, good thing it still works but the motor flips around a bit. Anyone know which part I will need? The giant rv near me is not very good, and I'd rather find my own part and fix it myself. I tried posting a pic but he wifi is bad...

I see you live in Upland, we just found another RV repair in Rancho Cucamonga. We have our Landmark in there for repairs right now. All work is done inside and your unit is inside when they are closed. Would be a short tow for you. It's Inland RV, if you can't repair it yourself might give them a try.

You'll definitely want to level side-to-side with blocks or boards under the low-side wheels. The front jacks let you raise or lower the front end to hitch/unhitch and to level the rig front-to-rear.

I think you actually need the gear reduction assembly, which has cast tabs that keep the motor from rotating. The motor isn't screwed to anything, but sits tight on the gearbox and the tabs again stop it from rotating.

Here is a link to the Venture Landing gear manual from the "Tools" tab above, then "manuals" then "Exterior" then "Landing Gear" then "Venture":

Here's the best picture I could get of the internet showing the motor stop tabs sticking up: Landing Gear Gearbox.jpg

You may not have damaged anything. The motors do flop around a lot. Did you ever look at it before you thought it was damaged?

I never set the height for the front landing gear. Put the "lego blocks" under the tires to level it. Then pull the pins on the legs and let them drop to the ground......then lift the trailer off the hitch. They will set themselves (pins drop into place).

Get 2 stick on levels. Put one just above the landing gear switch and one on the off door side at the front. This way you can see both levels when setting up. Front to back...side to side. Use the side to side level to figure out how many blocks you need to use to level the coach side to side BEFORE you unhook so you can drive onto the blocks as needed. One more thing to be aware of. If you have 2 large slides on 1 side of the coach (normally the ODS) you might need to add extra blocks to that side to compensate for the weight of the slides when out. We have to on ours.

I copied both pictures to Windows Paint, and blew them up. Both seemed to show a broken gearbox case on the bottom right. I didn't see the motor retaining tabs broken, but I could not see them at all. In the 2nd pic the motor looked like it was hitting the shaft to the follower leg. I think you need a new gearbox for the broken corner, and maybe this new gearbox will cure the motor rotation problems.
