We will be headed home ( Georgia) from Grand Lakes Colorado. I will be on I 70, should I take 470 around Denver or just go through on I 70? Thanks in advance!

Take 470 till you get to US 85, which is also Sante Fe Drive. Take US 85 until you get to Castle Rock. Get on I 25 south from there. ( if you are going South ). If you are continuing on I70 East, then just stay on I 70 ( at 1 or 2 pm, traffic should not be too bad on I 70 )

When we come up from the south on I-25, We prefer the loop, just because the curves are bigger, the lanes are wider, and traffic is a little lighter than I-70 through the heart of Denver.

We traveled from Chatfield State Park near U.S. 85 to WaKeeney KS last Friday. We took 470 West to I-70 between 9:30 and 10 in the morning and traffic on 70 through Denver was not heavy at all. We averaged 50-55 mph comfortably through the airport exits. I avoid 470 east of 25 due to the higher toll when towing.
