dinette chairs the wood smells sour

first of all we love our big horn 2009 3600rl it is beautiful an everything we need. the problem is we have had a sour musty smell in the dinette area since we got it an here is what we have discovered. first we thought it might be the material so we took off the seat material put it in a big garbage bag for three days opened it up an no smell. put it back on then thought maybe the wood under the chusion took that apart then nothing still smelling. so we took apart the chair even the bottom out an it still smelled so we smelt the actual wood of the chair an there it was so we are now washing the chairs with pine sol an hope it helps. anyone else having this problem?

I believe that is the way oak smells. Especially if it is green or not sealed. Look for areas under the seats etc. that haven't been shellacqued and put some sort of lacquer or sealer on the areas that are bare.

thanks for the reply an yes oak has a smell but not a sour smell as this does an i think these are made out of ash wood which which has a sour smell like a dirty washrag.
