disappointed in our cyclone

We have a 2012 cyclone 3712 and so far every trip stuff breaks. Last trip major leak in kitchen, sink stopper and door fell off track. This trip closet rod bent, drawer under fridge fell apart, once again door fell off track, and switch to living room lights won't budge. Is this normal or did we just get a lemon. We were close to factory so went by for a closet rod. They failed to mention the rod changed size and won't fit holders anymore. Our friends bought a grand design and that factory treated them like royalty. I think that will be my next trailer.

Well we are new owners of 2016 wilderness 3175RE. We have had it 3 weeks and this weekend was the first time out. It rained and the closet slide leaked real bad.. I'm really disappointed in the quality assurance of Heartland. This will be going back to dealer for fix but a little history on this purchase journey.
We originally bought a 2015 Wilderness 3175 RE in first week of June. It had so many issues including rotted floor on the closet slide in forward bedroom. All cabinets had water damage at floor level due to sink drains not tight plus 13 other issues. St. Louis RV( purchase site) actually put us in the 2016 they had in inventory. ( great customer service). Anyways I wonder if this leaking with the closet slides were an issue. Design flaw? It sure seems like to me..
We will see what happens

We have had no leaks (other than a water hose blowout this year). Our BH has been in rain storms coast to coast and ice storms too as well as quick altitude and temperature changes. We have been very impressed with the quality of ours.

Bought in 2013 so too new to have this many issues especially considering we are not full timers and didn't travel much first year due to providing care for a dad I lost to cancer. (Ps cancer sucks)

We bought our 2014 Elkridge 37 Ultimate last year. Since then we have camped in it a total of 15 times. Each trip last year I was fixing something. I found a plumbing pipe that was not glued together and leaking. Outside kitchen cabinet doors that kept coming off the hinges (the compression arms that lift them and kept them open continually pushed the door and hing apart. Totally an engineering problem and I cannot imagine being the only one with the issue). Shower leaking. Molding falling down. Lap sealant on the roof needing to be touched up. Now I have an air conditioner that is icing and blowing ice through the duct work. I will fix that this weekend and know that an appliance is not Heartlands fault.

Prior to this unit I had a Keystone Passport and never had the first issue.

All that being said, we love our fifth and are no where near being ready to get rid of it. Hopefully I have worked out all the bugs and can now enjoy many years with it.

We picked up our Cyclone in Feb and have been out 8-9 times plus several driveway campovers with grandkids. Knock on wood "zero" problems that were not self-induced.

Im 2nd owner but still should last longer than one year. Luckily got extended warranty as it appears the slide is not going out like it should bigger gap at bottom than top and slide sides on outside appear to be warped. Will get that checked when I get home

DM2776,

Things do happen, and some can be prevented and others can not. since your unit was previously owned it is tough to say if it was properly cared for (maintained) but one thing that jumped out to me as an owner of a 2010 Cyclone ( new to me in 2011 ) was the issue with the sliding doors coming off the tracks. did this happen when you were hauling or camping? if hauling were the doors secured open during travel ? I have only had one door come off the tracks on my 3010 and that was when I forgot to secure the door before heading out.

with regards to the slides being out of alignment - they are adjustable and the warping could be an issue if the slide was out of alignment and it resulted in a leak - good to get that checked.

Last point: cancer does suck!

Purchased our Cyclone 3800 a month ago, took delivery two weeks ago and had it at home for 4 days before going back to dealer for a multitude of repairs; the most major being the Level Up automatic leveling jacks not operating properly and the battery not charging when plugged in for 4 days. Too many issues to list. Quality, fit and finish is horrible. Sorry we ever purchased a Heartland product. Should have gone with the Fusion.

Moved on to the next thing...
We just got our new 2015 Heartland Prowler six weeks ago and as luck would have it . . . only a few minor problems so far for warranty repairs.

We have taken it out twice so far, and I will be calling the dealership tomorrow to schedule getting our 5th-wheel trailer in to get these issues fixed!

We have about five weeks before our next scheduled outing, and our dealership is only about 50 miles from our house (benefit of buying locally).

So I hope to get our issues resolved during this five week period.

I suggest you make a list of the warranty issues you have, then call your dealership and give them the rundown on what you expect for repairs, then schedule an appointment to get your trailer to your dealership on your terms between your scheduled outings with your trailer.

Then call Heartland yourself and advise them of the repairs you are needing . . . and give them the itinerary you have scheduled with your dealership so that they get on the same page of YOUR schedule.

Our new dealership so far has been awesome to deal with . . . but the dealership we bought our previous 2013 Heartland product from left us hanging a lot and made us feel like we were at fault no matter what the problem was and constantly advised us as to how much warranty time we had left.

Don't let your dealership do that to you.

One other thing . . . join the Heartland Owner's Club . . . free for the first year!

Had it not been for the Heartland Owner's Club, chances are we would have purchased another brand of trailer to replace our 2013 Heartland Trail Runner!

You will not regret joining the HOC!
