Dometic 2852 Fridge Too Cold

Hi everyone. I have a 2009 Cyclone 3210 that I have had issues with since new. Here are a couple of the latest. The first is our Dometic 2852 fridge get way too cold if left on for more than 3 days, to the point that all liquids will freeze solid. Out trailer is parked at a permanent campsite with full hook ups so we are running the fridge from electricity. The 2852 is supposed to set the fridge temp. automatically as there are no manual adjustment settings (as far as I can see, even after checking the users manual). Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so how did you fix it?

The second concern I have is the electric holding tank light up guages show full on the grey#2 holding tank all the time, even after thoroughly draining all 3 holding tanks. Any ideas on what going on. My dealer is 6 hours away from me and nobody in my city will even look at my unit because I did not but it locally from them (reason being they were $9000.00 more and would not move at all on their price, so I drove 6 hours and kept the $9000.00 in my wallet, but I digress).

Any help on these 2 issues would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry, I don't have any help for you regarding the temp of your refer. Actually most posts are about the temps not cold enough.
As far as the readings for your tanks, they are almost never accurate.
You will learn when they are full and need emptying.

Two things on the refrigerator temperature; 1) What setting do you have it on? The button/indicator on the outside of the unit will let you set it to different levels. Normally, we leave ours on 3 all summer (also a seasonal site user), 2) Inside the fridge, on the vanes at the top of the cabinet is a slider thermistor. If it's all the way to the top of the vane, slide it down a little and keep playing with it until you get the temp to where you want it. Higher is colder, lower is warmer.

Pick up a cheap refer thermometer to hang inside the fridge to see what the actual temp. is.

What John said. As far as the tank guages go...."normal condition". We have owned at least 10 rigs....and none of them had gauges that worked correctly.

Good advise about a refer thermometer. I will do that. As far as the button/indicator unit, there is no adjustment as the fridge is designed to regulate the temp. automatically (pretty dumb if you ask me). I will look for the slider adjustment this weekend. As a side note, I contacted Dometic directly and spoke to a customer service rep and they still haven't provided me any solutions. Its nice to know I can can count on fellow RV owners to come to the rescue. Also, thanks for the response about our tank guages being wonky, and it being a normal occurance. Why do the trailer manufacturers install the guages if they don't work correctly?

Dometic manual says:
This refrigerator is equipped with a control system,
which can automatically select the most suitable energy
source which is available, either 120 Volt AC or LP gas
operation. The refrigerator can be operated in either the
AUTO mode (thermostat factory preset below the safe
food storage temperature) or MANUAL mode (continuous
operation - no thermostat control).
NOTE: Under certain cool weather conditions, the food in
the lower portion of the fresh food compartment may freeze
if operated for an extended period of time on the MANUAL
mode.

If it's not in manual mode, it's likely to be a bad thermistor.

I've attached a couple of pages from the Dometic manual. The last page includes
instructions on how to test for a defective thermistor.

Wow, I can't believe I missed that in the manual. From what I can see, it appears I have a faulty thermistor. Thanks for all your help Dan. I will test the thermistor this week end!
